How about we secure OUR borders. It's inflow, not outflow that is being complained about.

Extremely dumb take. So your answer to tariffs is more tariffs? This is anti free trade and hurts everyone’s economy (as we can clearly see from markets)

Where is your complaining about the other countries' tariffs? You seem to be very hypocritical on this. Where has anyone said tariffs would be good for the economy. Cant we agree tariffs hurt the economy so lets do what we can to get rid of them?

I don’t live in other countries? I can’t control or vote on their policies but I can recognize what we’re doing is hurting Americans?

So how do you get rid of their tariffs to help americans? If you really care that should be the goal.

Hate to say I told you so, but I said his tariff policy would kill the stock market.

The recession should have already happened, but we need it to happen, to finally reset the Government spending over the last 4-5 years. There’s really no other way to get those interest rates down to refinance the 10 trillion in debt that we have to refinance, can’t rely on short term rates like Yellen did.

I'd put 10% in UVIX prior to the election anticipating a shite storm. Another 5% in GLD. UVIX is up 20% today. It can drop that much in a day as well.
Overall, down -1.85%.

But overall, just have been DCA since then on a weekly basis in fairly conservative ETFs like IDV, CGDV and JEPQ.

Just pumping extra money into a HYSA for now. Have to let some stuff ride it out. With no bottom in sight right now I will take a very conservative approach with new money.

Times like this just suck.

- can’t move 401k, SP500 fund has a 30 day lockout if you do
- can’t move after tax investments without realizing a huge taxable gain (mostly short term)

Roth has been in cash for 2 weeks, thank God. All I can do for now is park new money in mmkt fund for now.

Not getting into shorts/put options, my anxiety is high enough on any given day.

This is my exact dilemma.

I have a HYSA at 4.3, mortgage at 5.25, and a red portfolio. Wondering where my next check goes.

HYSA offers flexibility at a loss, mortgage rates seem to be going down, and if I can buy down my average… choices
