They appear to lose quite a bit of value after 50k miles or so. And you're right, they aren't great on gas at all. 19 is about right.

That's a ton of chee to buy a vehicle. Even if money wasn't an issue there are so many other vehicles I'd spend 40k on before that.

Well, the XC90 is way down on my list of preferences at the moment. I'd rather something that gets better gas mileage, doesn't require premium gas, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg to repair. However, I would never buy one new so the 40k issue is moot. I am only considering vehicles which have a ceiling of around 15k. There are a few XC90s with under 80k miles that fall at that price point. Again though, I think I'd prefer to save over a grand (possibly much more) by going with a mid-sized sedan. Doing so would also allow me to get a vehicle with less mileage.

Have you looked at the new malibu? I traded in my 09 Silverado Crew Cab. Got the lt model for 19, they bought the truck with 19k miles for 25k (I bought the truck with 8k on it for 24 )

What's your price range rsbr? There are several options for in the lower 20's that you make enjoy and save some cash if you planned on going into the high 20's low 30's. Good warranty on the gm too.

Also, are you dead set on foreign? Do you plan on keeping until the wheels fall off? I'm still in school and like to pay cash for cars so I won't be getting anything else for a while.

Oh, I'm spending nowhere near that. My ceiling is 15k. And, no, doesn't have to be foreign.

Neat, but the shitpile of data analysis that will result from this is scary.

Better not show this to the Poli Board. The correlation of "Barack Obama" and "Muslim" is like 98%. They'd try to use this as evidence or something.

Yeah, it's a tough market. All you can do is find undervalued companies and give them time to mature while trying to ignore the market if you can stomach it.

One of my favorite recent trends: people on facebook clicking on porn-ish videos that have some kind of code embedded that automatically posts it to their facebook wall with a comment. Recently noticed ones "dad walks in on daughter" and "woman has orgasm on rollercoaster." Cracks me up every time.

You tried the Luzianne C&C and organic vanilla soy milk yet? That shite will do nothing for vertigo, though. You sure you don't have a vestibular disorder? My wife tested me and I do, explains some dizziness and seasickness I get.

Car update:

It's a great feeling when you get a really badass car.

It's an even greater feeling when, after deciding not to go with the more badass car, you applaud yourself for making the best economical decision.

The XC90 is officially off the list, and this even after test driving it. Showdown now is between Maxima, Camry, and Accord (also want to look at Hyundai). I've also lowered my ceiling from 15k to 13k.

I want more money in my investment account, not my driveway. And it's a good feeling knowing I've made a decision in line with that.

No, I added it to my Google Tasks list, which is where I store shite I want to do. Restaurants, beers, cds to download, etc. I have just avoided all sources of caffeine since Tuesday. I get pretty tired around 430ish, but eating something usually provides a boost. Today was better than yesterday, I think it'll be fine.
