Yep. I went long calls OUST, but also have hedges on (spy and qqq have lost their 20 day).
Not concerned long term obviously.

Fantastic entry today around 35-36 for the brave ones.
21 EMA is still in tact on the chart, and RSI has cooled to neutral.
This is an important level.
If the market continues to be shaky then 29-30 is on the table for OUST, but good news...the GAP is CLOSED!

Back to the market, I'm actually seeing overall strength here as the crazy dip got bought and as SPY recovered yesterdays closing price of 737, which is a key level to watch.
Sector rotation is happening with DOW closing green again. Cool off on tech was/is warranted.
All eyes on space x?? That's the wrench here...

I had 8 Puts assigned this past week average cost 43.50. I did 3 more Puts today at $35, $36 and $38.. Hoping to have increased my shares from a little over 100 to a little over 1000 this weekend. Also up a little over $2600 on my calls that I bought and closed last week so that lowers my cost per share a good bit. Waiting for the next runup and I will do some CC's.

I’m in for the long game, but with an average share price of $38 that wouldn’t be my favorite thing to see

I sold all shares and bought $30 January 2027 calls yesterday.
Today I sold all the calls and now have 1,000 shares of OUST at 39.96 plus some other goodies (MRLN, BRUN, VLN).

Sold covered calls on BRUN and OUST (but only 40% of the position).
$50 7/17s because I don't know what the hell will be happening next month or so. This is how I de risk.

For those interested, I got GREAT money for the BRUN calls. Collected $820 to sell at $45 by 21 August.

So that's a $53.20 share price to exercise right? (Exercise may not be the right term, but you know what I mean)

ETA: Or is that premium for 2 contracts?

It was 4.10 a piece, yes.
$410 premium received to sell for $45, so you're really selling for $49.10 in total.

Gotcha. I'm starting to try and analyze options contracts to get a better grasp.

Sold my first CC on OUST a while back. It is a 6/18 $40 strike. For a bit, the stock price looked like it was going to run away. But this volatility has done me some favors in buying me time to get to expiration. My cost basis on those shares is under $30 so even if my shares did get exercised, I'd have made a pretty decent profit.

I checked current prices on selling one contract of BRUN at your strike and date and it's in the $3-ish dollar range now so I was confused for a minute. Think I'm starting to get this stuff figured out for a change.

It's a wide bid/ask. I bet you can get $4 or more if you try.

While the bid is at 3.40 someone may snatch it up for 4.10

Part of the game is buying them back for less than what you sold them for.

Sold for $3, buy for 1.50...that's 50% gains.

Dumb question...

So let's say I sold a CC. If whoever purchases it closes it out early without exercising the option and taking the shares, does that CC stay out there for someone else to buy until expiration UNLESS I buy it back?

I get the concept of buying it back to close it. Unfortunately, mine has not hit deep into the green. Not enough to warrant me buying it to close. For instance, the ask on my current OUST CC is $3.30. The premium I received for it was $3.50. I don't want to buy to close for a $20 profit.

Yes.

If someone sells the call, someone else owns that call and will still exercise if in the money.

If it is sold without being excercised then it's still a contract and an obligation to someone, somewhere, out there.

Does that help?

Yes it does. I assumed that was the case. Just wanted to clarify. Thanks for the info, as always!

How do you feel about OUST compared to NBIS?

I'm loving these Infrastructure updated. They are really executing on this front. Massive TAM, little to no competition.
And that's maybe 20% of their business at most...
