Figured I would get a serious response posting this here as opposed to any other board. How do I go about filing a formal complaint in a certain department of the hospital? Not going into a lengthy story but it is pretty serious. Not my wife not getting salt on her dinner plate kinda stuff but a screw up on their part with using wrong insurance info when requesting transfer to a rehab hospital.

Just call billing and ask to speak to a manager. Is your name Karen?

Inpatient or outpatient experience? I forget who is over guest services now but have a few people to ask. If you can get me a couple extra details about where in the hospital I can try to find someone. Also is it care or bill/financial related?

Send them a formal letter announcing your intent to sue, that’ll get their attention. Then based on their response you can decide whether or not you’re really going to do it

Just let it go and never go back.
That place killed my step dad, I'd rather bleed out in the street than step foot in that shithole ever again.

It’s Insurane related. They filed a request to be moved to a rehab hospital using my previous insurance when I know for a fact that they had the correct info because the billing guy, John, came to our room in ICU the day after my wife was admitted. She was admitted Tuesday night April 20 and we are still there. She has been off all antibiotics and pain meds for a week now. We were told we would be moving this past Monday. I will fill in more details later and address the “Karen” comment as well. Thanks

OLOL is huge on those patient surveys. The better reply’s they get, the more $$$$$ *coughmagnethospitalcough*…..

That’s one very fast way to get their attention.

They kicked me out of the system when they didn't like when I truthfully filled one out... Be careful what you say to them.

Why wouldn’t you walk down to the first floor and sit down with the billing office until it’s worked out?

Seems pretty straightforward if you are still there.

They’re manipulating the system.

Magnet hospitals have to keep a certain patient satisfaction score to keep their “magnet” status.

“Magnet” status enables them to get reimbursed more $$ from Medicaid/Medicare.

But it seems like surveys that’s “less that adequate” to their taste aren’t making it through the system…

Hmmm.
