It sure looks is. VEEV and MDB as well.
I have played those two and CRWD, but not CRM...yet

Did you have short puts on CRWD and the others, or some other strategies? I went with all short puts on CRWD and CRM. Those are looking very good this morning. Looks like VEEV and MDB should also open up.
And I found out that my trading account with TDA isn’t transitioning to Schwab this weekend - only my HSA account is moving. The rep said they likely wouldn’t get to my other accounts until early 2024! And they added back the missing feature that was messing with me in the app. So I’m happy (and relieved) now, but only looking to put on a smallish SPX 0DTE trade today to close out the week.

Just short put spreads, yep!
Also MDB is actually today after close.

Ah, gotcha. MDB is one that I’m not really familiar with. Short put spreads on that one too?

Yes sir. Check out the IV on it, pretty insane. Though, the realized moves are quite large as well historically, so just be prepared.

MDB looks like another winner in after hours.

Yep. I played the 340 as the short put (higher delta) which was over $6 in premium.

Bit risky but I had a good feeling

What trading platforms do y'all recommend? I'm currently using Fidelity, which has been fine except for their recent outages during trading hours. But, they won't approve me for the level that allows me to trade spreads, ICs, etc., and they won't provide a reason.
As a result, I'm looking to move my money elsewhere so I can trade these types of options. Any recommendations?

I’ve been using TD Ameritrade’s Think or Swim for years - it’s a professional level platform that’s deep, but also customizable. TDA is in the process of transitioning to Schwab now, but ToS will remain as the high level trading platform.
ICs and credit spreads are risk defined, so it’s odd that you weren’t approved for the level that would allow you to trade those. I can’t remember all the questions on the trade level application, but maybe adjust your risk tolerance to “high” and indicate that your objective is speculative gains (or whatever terminology they use now). Years of experience also play into approvals, but both TDA and Schwab have excellent customer service and they can walk you through the process if you decide to go with them.

Well Jag, after the blowout losses by LSU and UVA this weekend, do we even care about money anymore?

What made it worse is that I live smack dab in the middle of VA Tech country. All those happy Hokies after their win almost made me sick.
Kirk Du Plessis is also a Hoo. Maybe I need to shoot him an email and see how he’s coping.
I basically just watched the markets yesterday. By the end of the session, it was clear that it would have been safe to go in the water with my typical SPX plays.

ORCL is on deck for earnings after the close today. Before the open, IV is 35.10% and the IV percentile is a moderately attractive 51%. The 9/15 expiration has a predicted range of +/-6.91. Looking to play this one - haven’t decided on the strategy yet (probably just naked puts, but possibly a jade lizard).
And with the Morgan Stanley upgrade and new price target of $400, TSLA is rallying in the pre-market. I got assigned shares off a 252.50 put a couple of weeks ago, and I’d been selling 255 calls since. I decided to stop selling calls after the 9/8 expiration and follow price action this week. Now planning to dump those shares (hopefully today) for a nice trading profit.

Got caught up in meetings yesterday afternoon and wasn’t able to launch any trades on ORCL. Looks like the short call side of a jade lizard would have printed. But on the delta that I was considering for the put side, easily tested based on this 11% drop in the stock. Looks like I got lucky by not being able to play that one. But I did get out of the assigned TSLA shares for a nice swing profit.

Looks like UNP has finally bottomed. sold some October 205/200 short puts
Posted on 9/13/23 at 7:43 am to b-rab2
Was that monthlys or weeklys on UNP? Just wondering since I see that the expected earnings announcement for UNP comes out the day before monthly expiration for October monthlys.
