Short. I bought puts. DKNG has a gap to fill at 18.45.

Check out SWN March $5 calls

Well, long if you bought/own. But I hope you get a nice score off the trade. Do you set a profit target and enter a conditional sell order when you do these types of trades, or are you able to follow the market through the day?

Grabbed some RIOT $6.50 calls and Mara $7 calls that are up 50%

True. I'm still new to options but I follow the action pretty close. I've made 4 trades on this one so far. I will keep playing until it closes that gap.

Gotcha. You’re not far from being in the money now.

I've already secured 40% profit.

^^^Nice one.
So far, all of my short options earnings plays this week have worked out well: COIN, NVDA and LCID. And the short syn. strangles on SPX (2/21 and 2/23 expiry) have expired/are expiring worthless. I haven’t decided yet if I’ll do anything with SQ today or not. I’ve already got a lot of buying power tied up til the close tomorrow and and I’d like to launch some heavy SPX trades for 2/28 expiry tomorrow. Remember, risk management is key to what we do.
This week and last have been my most active ever. Although it’s been very profitable, still working while I trade this much has worn me out. But my goal has been to make (on a monthly average) 2x trading vs. my salary at work. So far, just with SPX trades, I’ve met that. By September I’ll make the decision to either work for another year or play that Johnny Paycheck song.

Wow. Next week's TSLA 180 puts are paying $2.10. Nice premium there IMO.

Maybe a little extra IV because of the investor day event on March 1? Looks like some healthy premiums going into next week. Are you considering going short the 180 puts? That’s about a 16 delta - not bad and nice premium.
Couldn’t get enough premium out of the SQ options. Went for ADSK 2/24 short puts at 202.50 strike instead. Stock has sold off from 221 to 211 in the AH. Still inside the expected move of +/-13.14.

I grabbed 100 shares of coin at $58. Sold half at $64 and grabbed a 3/3 $65 call at $2.35 and is already up 30%.
Shorted NVDA shares at $237.
I grabbed some shares of GUSH this for $123-124 and sold some for $135 today. Holding several until $150.
Also grabbed a lot of OXY shares in the $57-59 range this week and will hold for ER.

Short-dated options trade behind Thursday's U.S. stock market choppiness - Nomura's McElligott
NEW YORK, Feb 23 (Reuters) - An intraday dip in the S&P 500 Index (.SPX) on Thursday was spurred by large trades in short-dated derivatives that piled selling pressure on the market, according to Nomura strategist Charlie McElligott.
Some 26,000 Feb 23 put options on S&P 500 e-minis futures with a strike price corresponding to the 4,000 level were bought early in Thursday’s session, McElligott said in a note.
Trading in short-dated options contracts, or 0DTE- zero days to expiry contracts - have garnered attention on Wall Street in recent months, drawing record volumes and boosting worries about their role in aggravating intraday stock price swings.
McElligot said that Thursday's trade was "obviously institutional in origin," noting that it was probably the largest 0DTE block seen to date.

Swish! Are you out now or planning to hold the short for awhile?

Didn't take the 180 short tsla puts. Probably would still be fine with tsla still at 196.
I did buy some UPRO common stock today (3x SPY daily leverage). Thesis is that SPY now grinds its way back to ~420 over next two months

ADSK got pummeled after earnings and I ended up with shares. It happens.

Went heavy on some 1DTE syn. strangles on SPX. Prefer not to see some sort of vol. spike tomorrow as it’s hard to adjust these things with such little time to react.
