If the blockchain crashes for whatever reason I can't see why someone would still want to buy it though... let's say it had a catastrophic failure and now that blockchain is just pure shite now, why would someone want to buy an nft on there.
Of course there’s risk here. Like, alot… I’m sure everyone here realizes that

So if sol went to complete shite. The nft that was built on sol would still be worth alot?
Posted on 10/1/21 at 7:35 pm to TigeRoots
Yea that's what I'm trying to kind of figure out. If you're buying an nft. The best would to try and buy on the blockchain that you think will thrive right?

Just saying in general, so if eth went to complete shite. Those nft would be worthless? Better?

people will go to where the fees are the cheapest and transactions are the fastest - right now that is unquestionably sol for NFTs
eth is just not a great user experience at the moment with NFTs - although obviously, people still use it in droves
but yea youre right, who knows how this all evolves, im guessing it will be crosschain and we will be able to use many different currencies to buy

quote:yeah I think that’s where it ends up. FTX is going to allow people to use credit cards on the sol marketplace, which will make it even easier for people to get in the game.

There’s a listing/sale fee from marketplace abd a built in fee on the nft
Posted on 10/1/21 at 7:44 pm to OneMoreTime
wow, credit cards, damn
i wonder if we will eventually start listing NFTs in USD instead of an ETH or SOL

Hope not, listing in Monopoly money brings with it ease of spending. Tag it with dollars Abd people may slow down

agreed, the psychology of transaction will def change.
theres def going to ppl maxing out credit cards for jpegs though, what a timeline

Ok, yea cross chain would make sense then I guess you're relying on the "rare" factor like anything at that point.

Very true

yea, its so weird man.
mint meerkats for 1 SOL this evening, flip it for 7 SOL an hour later - thats a grand profit for little effort and it happens daily
cant be sustainable one would think

well for the short term, SOL is going to continue to dominate (imo)
Sam doesnt play fair, the UI of the FTX marketplace will be excellent and hes allowing credit card purchases.
so once SOL gets a competent opensea marketplace competitor... uh oh

No way it’s sustainable. Well I dunno, if they are gonna let people start buying them with credit cards it may be sustainable for a bit longer than expected

Again, I feel like it’s all Monopoly money, people are making so much it’s crazy and they are freely spending on chain, can’t take it off chain or gotta pay taxes

Did meerkats sell out that quickly or did they list on secondary before the mint finished?
