Yeah. I minted from mobile so I didn’t check to see what the WL token was going for. Probably would have sold it if I had seen it was going that high

It appears that the sol/eth whales have found Terra nfts. Last two days, they have been sweeping floors. The top 4 blue chips floor has increased 25% or more in some cases. Doesn't appear to be slowing down.

That has been the challenge all over this time, limited holders.

Worth looking into galactic punks, hell cats, luna bulls, skeleton punks, levana

I'm in need of some opinions. I received a free NFT called EVmavericks. It was given to me for being a frequent contributor to r/ethfinance. In all honesty, I don't really know much about the NFT market. I don't have anything against them, it's just that it's not my thing.

Floor price seems to be around 0.4-0.5 ETH. I'm thinking of just selling now for around there and considering it a win before the price goes to zero, but since I don't know much about how the NFT world operates, I don't know if it will gain or lose value. Do y'all have any input on this? It seems to me that it's a pretty niche NFT and will be basically worthless in a few days when the hype dies down, but I've been wrong many times before.

only 5 eth vol traded and not many sales a day. No socials. I'd flip. Unless you have some inside info.

Well, I got a little something for it. Free ETH is always nice. Next question. Since it was a free other than the minting gas, how do I handle taxes on it? Am I only taxed when I sell/exchange the ETH I received for the NFT and use $0 as the cost basis, or am I taxed on it now for the sale from NFT->ETH and then again later for ETH->USD?

nft tax is a mess. many panic AFTER converting back to web2 money then get a cpa who knows coins.

some tornado cash it and keep the crypto.

I’ve found that the nft part isnt too bad. It’s the swap sites and liquidity pools that get super confusing.

It is time consuming though. Probably gonna pay someone to do it next year

Unfortunately, you get hit twice. The airdrop itself is taxed as income for the fair market value of ETH that day.

If you sell your ETH later, you're taxed at capital gains or losses, depending on whether ETH's value increased or decreased since the airdrop.

Also, the floor on EVMavericks 3X'ed since your post. Did you sell yet?

Edit: Actually since you were airdropped the ETH, you wouldn't have any losses to report, only gains.

Solana NFTs are a pain. I had to fix all the transactions manually.

Yes, of course I sold because I'm an idiot and that's how my luck goes. Sucks, but whatever. I've made dumber mistakes in life. At least this mistake still netted me money unlike other mistakes I've made. I honestly couldn't perceive a price higher than I sold for. I know there are some big names in the r/ethfinance community, but I didn't think it would have much value outside of that niche community. I'm just going to ignore any future value of these things and carry on in ignorant bliss.:lol

Thanks for the tax input. That's what I thought. Koinly wasn't calculating things for me correctly, so I went in an modified it.
