Stout, should I be concerned with leaving coins/money on Poloniex, or should I move coins immediately to my ether wallet?
If you are trading keep it on the exchange if you aren’t put it in cold storage.

Is the LSU crypto group over? Everyone just stopped.

Binance shows different "versions" of ICX available (attached to BTC, ETH, etc.).
It’s all ICX but it’s just the trade price versus BTC, ETH, BNB, etc.

also read a little on how to exchange coin-to-coin, but does it all require you to download an app to your PC and keep things backed up on physical hard drives? I'm not really keen on all of that. Would much rather be able to transact in the cloud only.
Just keep your coins on coinbase or binance then.

What kind of fees are typically charged? If I transfer some ETH from coinbase directly to Binance vs going coinbase->gdax->binance, that is more costly?
Yes coinbase charges a lot more fees than GDAX. Binance also charges fees I think .1ETH or its 50% if you use BNB to pay the fees.

I'm new to this whole thing, so bear with me. I've got a few thousand I could drop into any of these and looking for the best short-term option.
50% ETH, 30% ICX, and 20% VEN would be a great portfolio. Remember to do your DD.

Just buy this on Coinbase and let it ride?

So initial price is $350'ish depending on BTC price and you have made back 1/3rd of that?
Yup

Yes there or GDAX. GDAX has much lower maker/taker costs and it’s the same company as coinbase. ICX and VEN are on binance. ETH is the future and plasma is almost here.

So if I bought any of them, it's all just the same thing?
And where do you sell ICX when the time comes?

SO you're saying ETH is the best bet for longer-term gains? Is it fine to just buy that and hold it on Coinbase?
Posted on 1/19/18 at 9:58 am to S1C EM
You can sell ICX on Binance also. And if you are just buying ETH then Coinbase is fine for that

Yes they are the same thing but the prices are different in relation to the coin it’s being traded against. For example if ETH goes up percentage wise against ICX, although ICX went up USD wise you lost money.
Sell on binance for ETH and then transfer ETH back to coinbase for dirty fiat.

I think so. ETH will probably flip BTC this year and have #1 market cap.

My suggestion is before anyone buys read the white paper of whatever coin you’re insterested in and get to know the founders / dev team, etc.

My dream scenario is FUN @ $.50, XLM @ $1, ICX @ $20, all before ETH moves to far from $1000. Convert everything back to ETH and wait for that $10k value.

I like it! Although I would hold some in ICX. It’s going to $20 by 01 FEB, but realistically I can see it going to $200 EOY with a good bullrun.

Much like your EOM ETH prediction, I think thats a little too optimistic.

Okay. So I have a Coinbase account. I need to set up GDAX (though it appears that it recognizes me already from being logged into Coinbase). I need to upload a picture ID to set-up GDAX it appears, correct? Then I set up Binance?
THEN, I buy using which one? Buy ETH on Coinbase, transfer to GDAX, transfer to Biance (because you can't transfer directly to Binance from Coinbase, I guess?) where I convert it to ICX and it doesn't matter which ICX I pick?
ETH turns into a lot of ICX. I hold ICX til after the summit and then see what it's worth? If it goes up, it should convert back to MORE ETH which is where I really want to be over the next year?
Am I doing this right?

You can go straight to Binance from Coinbase. Other than that I think you good
Oh and buy the ICX paired with ETH
