On one hand, idk if I could sleep at night knowing it's a pretty scummy thing to do, but on the other hand....DAMN I am fricking jealous of that guy who spent a weekend creating a slick website for the Useless Ethereum Token and made like 50k off it.
He was as honest as he could be that the tokens were useless and that any ETH sent to the smart contract would be going straight to his bank account to purchase whatever he wanted and that there would be no refunds and TO NOT ACTUALLY PURCHASE THE TOKENS.
Like a week later he had ~50k worth of ETH...
So yea, I'm down to create some legit looking websites that explicitly state anything sent to us if a donation with no value to be returned to the sender at any time.

BTC is as low as I've seen it in a while, what do people think? It's gonna keep dropping because of this fork coming up? I don't even know wtf a fork means

Unless we have a messy hardfork then I think we will be going up. If BTC somehow upgrades without a hitch then the sky is the limit.
I stated earlier that I will start buying BTC below 2100. I have moved that down to 2000 lol.

People are still nervous and going from BTC to hard storage, btc/eth or USD (including myself). I believe BTC will continue to see downwards pressure atleast until the 21-23.
There is 86% miner's support for SW2 which would indicate no HF. If all goes as expected, BTC will spring up again. The issue is that the devs don't fully trust the miners right now. I don't see a HF happening Aug 1 but later this year, there will be a 2mb issue that probably will result in a hardfork.

Thanks for the reply. I am mainly thinking of buying BTC just to be able to buy ETH or some other. I can't get on Kraken still but I can on Glidera to buy BTC and then I'd transfer to Polo. It's under $2,100 right now and I'm gonna watch it some more but I may buy some soon. I can only buy $1k a day with their shitty limits. But then again, I don't know if it's time to buy ETH yet either. Maybe some of the others like Golem, LTC, ETC??

Buying BTC then exchange to usd/usdt for the sake of having some fiat on hand to buy when big daddy btc issue gets sorted out is an idea. Buying btc to buy alt coins during this period of uncertainty is a poor decision imo.

Thanks. That's an idea too, at least I can be "in the system" this way and ready to pounce if needs be. Right now I can't do shite

Stayed up til 2a getting in on the ICO for Pillar Project. :fingers crossed:
Was a pain in the arse getting the wallets set up right and transferring, but done. Proud owner of 7,000 tokens, when the dust settles.

How does the BTC hard fork affect ETH or alt coins?
Posted on 7/15/17 at 9:34 am to TomRollTideRitter
I was told it depends how the coins are distributed.
Lately though it seems like alt coins are a direct representation of the bigger coins. The big ones go down, the alts follow

I have 2 BTC that I bought around 2,400. No choice but to hold. Wondering if I should try to average down.
