In 2 years: “Some brain-dead a-hole actually paid $23.57 for Chainlink “tokens” on the evening of 8/12/25! How did that dickhead not know he was throwing pristine government issued fiat currency at a completely worthless internet scam!”

Niiice. I picked a good one. I remembered some people talking about it in here and I saw that it had a hard cap so that was basically my entire thesis.

I always think what if I just had no conscience and had rolled years of btc gains into ETH for the last couple months and now rolled all those gains into Chainlink or whatever I thought was going to pop off as we move on to the next leg of this ride.

You know there’s people who really roll like that What a hell of a way to live.

I’ve been real hard on myself for years for not rolling Chainlink into Bitcoin when it was at its all time high. I’ve always believed in Chainlink though and never was sure on Bitcoin so the hold has been much easier for Link . This has been a brutal seven years though believing in a project and watching the pieces fall in place yet memes like poop coins are the ones that pop off

Chainlink is probably going to triple digits this cycle, if you believe in typical altcoin runs.

I’m pretty happy with some moves I’ve made but I won’t brag until the screenshots are in the bank

If you like the project I wouldn’t feel bad about keeping it. I feel like that’s a separate conversation from “hey is it time to start putting some money into bitcoin as a narrative/consensus play on hard money”. I think of bitcoin as general portfolio alpha, like mega cap tech. Most of the work has already been done and we just have to allocate a little each week to be in a better financial place in 20 years than we would be otherwise. Rebalance etc.

But I really don’t have anything against alts. They’re just more like distinct investments. I have no doubt some will be huge winners. I just never knew enough about a specific project to feel compelled. The Chainlink description sounded interesting. Maybe I’ll hold on to this one, educate myself and see what happens.

Ok this is bullish for alts.....

LINK

I think the best move for us is to think about what alt coin might be picked up as a treasury asset?

ETH is all the talk right now but is SOL next?

Why do you say that? I've never played in the alt coin game and still dont really intend to so just curious

The good news is that you're still early on ETH treasuries. Of the big names that have announced, they're only 20% of the way to their target holdings.

SOL is a safe bet for a decent run, I think. I see $500 as minimum. Add in a few treasuries, and it could rocket.

3x-5x seems doable on most major alts (eth, Sol, XRP, etc). As for lesser alts (Velo, Cosmos, Algo, etc) well, we know they are a casino. It's a game to be played by someone with something to lose. Get in and out at the right time and there is lots of money to be made, but few people pull that off.

DYOR. YMMV. NFA. All that good stuff.

You're right, this is definitely a good sign.

Institutional investment will target the big alts and there's already been rumblings of a Solana ETF.

Ethereum is the play for the foreseeable future. 1/3 of all Ethereum on exchanges is going to be bought up by corporations in the near future.

I am not a fan of Solana currently. That could change if they get ETFs, but it's not going to outpace ETH with ETF money + Solana's $30m per day inflation.

Crazy to go back to the beginning of this thread when Eth was $100. If our degenerate asses would have just stayed patient and accumulated as much eth as possible we all could have retired by now

I’ve waited so long for Link I think it’s aged me about 15 years and has made me financially numb. I describe it as knowing you have a winning powerball ticket but have to wait a year in between the numbers being picked

My formula for picking off-season alt coins was:

1. Is there actual “potential”
2. Is there a built in “hype machine”
3. Has it survived* a cycle?

*”survived” defined as typical parabolic rise followed by an expected 85-90% drop, and the 90% drop support held

LINK met these criteria and also was a mid-cap(>10)coin when I bought it, signaling potential upside into the top 4-6 range (if the stars aligned).

The risk/benefit at $5-$6 in 2023 was a no brainer when assessing all of this.

My first big LINK buy was around 20 cents. Thought I did good selling when it ran up to ~$3. Still kick myself about that one
