you have to use Binance.us
This is what I use...I have a whopping one month of experience doing this btw, but once you finally get approved to add USD to your account (took me 3 weeks I think) it is pretty user friendly and while not all the different coins are on there most of them are.

How's it going for you so far

nope not cheap, the ledger x is worth every penny imo over the s model

The big advantage I see are the fees are low (free to deposit money via ACH, and to purchase coins it's something like $.25 for every $50 worth of coins) and I was able to figure out how it works pretty easily. I don't really plan on doing much cashing out at this point but sold some dogecoin just to see how it worked, and selling isn't as easy as buying but was still easy enough that I was able to do it and lock in my $1.25 profit on $50 worth
I made my first buy on 2/23 and since then I'm up about 10%. I'm a small-timer and just depositing $100-$200 here and there in USD and then buying between $50-$100 in a specific coin, but I have accumulated 10 different coins based upon this thread and I'm sticking with all for the time being.
The drawback would be that not all coins are available but not sure any exchange has them all; Polkadot is a big one that I'd like to buy but can't because binance.us doesn't deal with them and I have enough trouble keeping track of one wallet.

I’m willing to hear why you say this because I can always get an upgrade for Christmas or something

I couldn't sign up for Binance.us in Louisiana. Maybe it's changed since a month or so ago tho.

its better built not so flimsy.
has pretty much unlimited storage space, better screen
bluetooth capability for mobile trading
if your just holding btc, eth probably not worth it...but if you've got 10 coins and constantly toggling ledger live to get the right app on the ledger S perhaps worth it

It feels like IOTA is nearing an inflection point. After going cold for years some of the old fudsters are warming up and back at it again.

What the best exchange for trading alt coins living in the US? Can we use Binance here?
You can if you use a VPN.

Preach it. I HATED the nano S. Always used Trezor instead. Then I got an x, total game changer. No longer have to pick and choose which wallet apps to load, awesome.
I prefer the Trezor Model T, but I don't recommend it to anyone unwilling to use the optional password. It's clear at this point that the hardware will be easily crackable if an adversary steals it and your accounts aren't password generated.

I know! Been seeing some of that going around lately, taking it as a good sign for now.
IOTA might fail miserably, but at least they are trying to win. Most of these coins aren't trying to actually fulfill a use case at all, but they talk a big game.

Kraken is good but you have to show id

Try out uniswap or similar defi, yes gas fees are bad but should greatly improve in april. This gives options for liquidity pools via smart contract rather than a centralized exchange. Plus you can get tokens new to market. Use a ledger and metamask acct

Anyone that reads this thread own Theta or Theta Fuel? It's been on fire the past several weeks.

Make sure you get some Theta Fuel while you're at it. This crypto is going to shock everyone, if it hasn't already. Bought Theta in the fall of 2018 at 0.139 each and have averaged UP and still making a killing.

What does it do? Consensus mechanism? Scalability? What differentiates it from the other 1000s of coins out there?
