from all information I've gathered that seems like a great move?
the biggest gripe I see is that ADA hasn't even released smart contracts yet

Yes they are and they will pump it further.
But the entire DeFi sector (including oracles!) is $65B and Cardano is $40B. I know where I'm putting my alt money.

Let’s not act like ETH and their gas fees are amazing. ETH is just 1st.
ETH has a terrible track record with timelines. I like that Polk and ADA are providing competition. I also think it’s not an “either//or” battle.

So Monero got delisted from Bittrex a few hours ago and I still hold a balance. I sent in a support request but am I fricked?

I would assume you can still withdraw and send it to a wallet on another exchange. However, I don't have access to Bittrex so I cannot confirm.

Bittrex to delist privacy coins
Seems like they haven't exactly been hiding the delisting as the pub date on that is Jan 1. Not a fan of it, but Bittrex is notoriously conservative and takes no chance of running afoul with US regulators. I'm not sure anymore if that is admirable or not.
