I don’t know shite about Crypto and I don’t even know where to start. I had gambling wining that went from $400 to $900 now back to $550. I’m afraid to do shite with any of it or add more to it even though I’m tempted with the value being so low. But it would be a total crapshoot. Should have sold that Link at $20 but I didn’t know. Guess I’ll just ride the wave.

The problem with crypto is that you have to expect to be in the long term. Ideally everything will grow over the next few years. Like you I don't have a lot invested but am in the positive on this. $20 for Link was ridiculous at this point just like $20000 was ridiculous for Bitcoin 2 years ago, but when people start FOMOing shite goes crazy.

Hindsight is always 20/20 though. even when you know something shouldn't go any higher its hard to hit that sell button and wait it out.

Not to be a wet blanket, but uh... why exactly are you putting (actual) money in something that (to use your own words) you don’t know shite about?

No offense intended. I don’t know shite about crypto either. Also don’t know shite about forex, soybeans or orange juice futures. And that’s why I wouldn’t touch them with a ten foot pole held by someone else’s hands. Just me though. And no, I’m no fun at parties.

99.9% of people that invest in crypto don’t know anything about it, the same with the stock market but people still do it and make money.

Where is that 99.9% number coming from? I doubt that it’s that high, especially in regard to stocks.

But I see where you’re coming from. I’m sure there are a lot of people who call guessing and gambling “investing”. But there are also a lot of people, including institutional investors, who put a great deal of effort into fundamental and other forms of analysis, and know the ins and outs of the equity markets to a great degree.

I actually have a good answer for that. I do know shite about sports gambling. I had money left over in my account from last year and in March, when the world was going to shite and there was nothing to be excited about, I withdrew all my money and the easiest payout was BTC. So I did that. There it sat for months and increased. Then someone told me about LINK so I moved 1/3 of it to LINK. It skyrocketed. I got excited but didn't know what to do next and just kind of ignored it because it was all free money anyway. Now, it's plummented. I'm not so excited. I did move some of the LINK back to BTC near the height of the LINK increase so that was good, and I'm still above what was originally deposited in Coinbase in March, so I'm only so much concerned anyway.

We're talking about less that a $1000 here. My original 'deposit' to coinbase (withdrawal from 5Dimes) was $350.

I'm not making or losing significant money on any of this but I wouldn't pay attention at all if I didn't have some type of stake in the game. It's just how I am.

And that’s cool. Just playing with free play money, huh? No harm in that.

Exactly. It’s house money. I’m not a baller by any stretch of the imagination so $500 is enough for me to check in once a week and see if it moved to $450 or to $550. I’ll ask a question or two, amd then check it again in another week amd see what happened.

Today, I see it’s doing well! Great! But if not for this conversation, I probably wouldn’t have even thought about it today.
