OCGN-ocugen maker of Covaxin another Covid vaccine

Got in this AM on a tip from a pharmacist that they had good results on a traditional vaccine(not mrna) for Covid. They are are in phase III of an EUA FDA trial and it has been used in third world countries with success.
Yahoo article
2500 shares @ 3.50.
FDA emergency approval early march.
Could mimick other vaccine makers and be a ten bagger.

“Compared to COVID-19 vaccines currently authorized under EUA, COVAXIN could induce more broad immunity targeting multiple viral proteins, potentially resulting in better protection against emerging mutant viruses, such as the UK and South African variants,” the 5-star analyst noted. “Additionally, COVAXIN only requires a standard vaccine storage temperature, compared to the more stringent storage requirements for the mRNA vaccines.”
The vaccine, therefore, “could strengthen the arsenal to fight against the pandemic.”
Ocugen is already in talks with the FDA and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) to map out the path forward to “a successful EUA.”

After reading your thread and marveling at the runup of OCGN today, I googled any news about it.
I promise I'm not trying to pooh-pooh on your stock tip but if you haven't seen this article, you might want to read it.

Some highlights...

The problem is this is a very risky partnership deal. This may have a depressing effect on OCGN stock in the near future.
For one, even though Bharat Biotech has a proposed vaccine for Covid-19, there is no data on its effectiveness.
quote:
Moreover, on Jan. 19, Bharat Biotech issued a warning about its Covid-19 vaccine. According to Seeking Alpha, the company said that people with weaker immunity and other medical conditions should consult a doctor before getting the shot. In addition, they said if possible avoid the vaccine.
quote:
The problem is that the collaboration announcement on Dec. 22 with Bharat Biotech does not indicate that there has been any Phase 3 clinical trial results.
But the only information about the vaccine’s effectiveness is that there was a Phase 3 clinical trial in India involving 26,000 volunteers. That was as of Dec. 22. Since then the company has not stated how effective the vaccine has been.
quote:
This is a highly speculative stock and a highly risky situation. No one in their right mind would put any serious money behind OCGN stock as an investment.

If you think I was going to drop a Twinkie eating pharmacist stock tip at 7:30 am....I’d have been laughed at. Hadnt done much DD but noticed it had news breaking and heavy short interest. It started to run around 2 and I was sleeping a patient.
I should have posted when it hit 5. It still is heavy short interest with 71% of the volume on 2/5 being short volume.

Looks like a short squeeze if Russians info is correct. Looks like a ten bagger if forces is.

Maybe some people have a small portion of their portfolio for speculative plays like this. But frankly, if it was more than 1% of your overall portfolio it would not really be worth it.
I like that part of Russians article better

Good play.
A little looking into Ocugen and they have a bunch of failed drugs so the company itself didn't look that great at first glance. Covaxin isn't their drug; it is a drug by an Indian company, Bharat Biotech, as LSURussian's article said.
Ocugen is trying to bring it to the US. There have been no trials in the US and they would have to run new trials IF and when the results of the trials in India look good. Currently, the only Phase II and III trials have been in India and they don't look done yet.

How the hell did I miss this thread.

Selling small lots to lock in some gains and try to bracket the top. Assuming you plan to be out of it today. Picking the top is pretty difficult.

Me too.
Kinda looks like this may not be the Holy Grail of covid vaccines, though. If you're wanting to get a non-mRNA shot, Johnson & Johnson will be the first out of the gate it appears. This one doesn't look likely to ever get any sort of EUA here if that article linked above is correct.

I already sold my initial 1000 for 100% profit. I'm riding on house money. Set a trigger for 400 at 18.50

Now. You've 5xed your money.

Yeah I sold at 15.50....was a good run. My 18.50 trigger was perfect for 400. I didn't catch the peak but I didn't hold after that hard dip
