Yep. Increased wages, chasing goods produced at a cost above their economic value, at an much lower level of supply. But hey, at least it won't be inflationary.

Why is everyone looking at this as a zero sum game? From his previous track record, these tariffs were used as a negotiation tactic and when applied were mostly targeted at China. Other countries will fill this void and we’ll do what we can domestically.

It won’t be easy and will take a long time but it is absolutely insane to depend entirely on China for so many goods while they continue to become more and more adversarial. The way they hid and then covered up the release of COVID on the world should by itself had led to an international outrage.
