So say you have a big company like Apple, Microsoft or Google that is looking at jumping into both AR technology and EV/LiDAR technology, well then MVIS' tech and patents suddenly become a pretty attractive offer given the TAM for both of these verticals over the next 5-10 years. THAT is why everyone thinks MVIS is so great.

Why didn’t they pick up this “valuable” portfolio for literally pennies last year?

The MVIS thesis makes no sense. Apparently a couple of message board posters have found a diamond in the rough that’s been around for a few decades, but Microsoft - the company that’s actually worked with MVIS - didn’t think to buy them when they were trading below a quarter a year ago.

How are the puts? Honestly curious. Obviously it went in the right direction, but with how high IV was and the extrinsic burn on earnings, not sure how much the gains are

Looks like 33-37% gains on most puts for 5/21. Not great but solid gains

I bought some puts right before close yesterday. They're up obviously, but like you said not astronomical. I sold them as it looked like it was trying to climb back up at the bell. Just never know with this one right now. Too volatile to pass on gains when they're there.

I think it settles in the 6-8 range after it’s all said and done

Highly doubt AT sold at the top. Most likely bought at the top

I looked on stocktwits and AT says he didn’t sell at the top and he’s still holding

Lol @ thinking that dude didn’t sell or sell a lot. Nobody is smart enough to hit on those stocks when they are legit pennies and not sell for big profits

You think he’s held it since legit pennies and he’s suddenly going to sell when his reason for buying hasn’t happened yet? Investors that hold like this aren’t price driven, they’re news driven. If he was price driven, he would have sold it long before now. He will end up holding til the news aka buyout he’s waiting for occurs. And I’m fairly confident he’ll lose most of his profits before that buyout ever happens

And AT didnt sell the last time it hit $25 either. Rode it all the way back down multiple times. He’ll ride it back down to $1.00 too

I rode it up and down twice, and was probably on my way to bagholding again until those beautiful bastards at WSB turned it into a two bagger for me. Honestly, I think she’s done at this point. Not planning to buy in regardless of how low the price gets, but might consider a few put contracts after earnings are announced and the IV crush has passed.

Bumping this for the annual shareholders meeting tomorrow. While I'm not expecting anything major update-wise, we do still have a gap to fill on the daily chart at 17.53, so we could see a significant pop tomorrow with any kind of positive updates. For those interested, here is the link for tomorrow's meeting: https://events.q4inc.com/vsm/MVIS/2021

Current status of MVIS' LiDAR vertical:
Based on the last earnings call update, we know that Microvision now has a sophisticated, six-station, long-range LiDAR sensor pilot production line that was already developed and installed in Redmond, WA with the help of MVIS' automation partners. I assume they have started rolling off the first test units of the A-Sample LiDAR sensor by now. Perhaps this is the update we get tomorrow?

This pilot production line will allow them to create a small number of internal/OEM test units. As they learn, they can then take their designs, proven process maps and control plans, and then eventually transfer that over to a newer, more highly automated production line (similar to LAZR + Celestica) to support expected initial sales of the A-Sample sensor in the second half of 2021 (I'd lean towards Q4) through their contract manufacturer.

According to Sharma, this second, more advanced line (based in Asia) will have the capacity to produce between 12,000 to 15,000 sensors per year by sometime in 2022. The capacity of this future production line can then be ramped up even further to meet required OEM volumes as they build up to their full mass production target dates starting in 2024 for OEM vehicles.

For the rest of 2021, Microvision will be 1000% focused on continuing to negotiate strategic alternatives(buyout or partnership), while also executing on these production ramp goals, leading to initial sales of A-Sample sensors by the end of the year. MVIS' value will only climb higher as they prove their ability to quickly scale and ramp production. This will ultimately lead to a bigger BO number if/when that time comes(I'm guessing by end of 2022). For now though, it's all about internal and OEM A-Sample testing, followed by bringing on a strategic investor/partner, and then ending the year with initial sales of A-Sample units to their first potential OEM partner.

As I continue researching LiDAR and the true TAM involved, I feel safe buying MVIS under $19(recently added shares under $13). And don't forget about augmented reality. MVIS is confirmed inside Microsoft's Hololens 2, also very likely inside IVAS(not confirmed) and Microsoft has recently confirmed their plans to take Hololens to the consumer markets. I'm pretty confident MVIS will be trading closer to $50 by the end of 2022. There will be plenty of juicy swings to play along the way too!
