Anyone on here do mortgages? Currently working with GMFS on a VA loan. Want to see if I am getting the best rate.

I messaged someone here a few years ago that was recommended and spoke on most mortgage threads. I got a much cheaper rate (.75 percent) shopping around. Then, he said that he’d match it. Why weren’t you giving me the best rate to begin with? I didn’t go with him. Won’t name any posters, but lots of mortgage guys are just salesmen.
