Long story short, my account rep at TD Ameritrade recently moved on. I seldom needed him, but when I did, he was Johnny on the spot and quite sharp. The guy who replaced him is about as sharp as a pancake and almost as motivated.

So I'm thinking about moving a portion of my account over to Merrill. It would be the portion that I just trade. In addition to free trading (which I'll be doing more of next year), there's the cash bonus and access to their better than average research arm. But over the years, I know that Merrill Edge has had complaints about sloppy back office functions. I've heard that they're doing better now. But what say you, the Money Talk board? Care to share?

TIA

I haven't had any trouble but only been with him for couple of years. I don't really need them to do anything except leave me alone and let me trade.

I have an account with them through BofA. Granted I don't use it very much, but when I need help their customer service has been good.

I never use an advisor but their price for trading "free" is their best deal around.

I have Merrill edge and have zero complaints. As with the other guys here, I just do some casual trading and nothing exotic that requires constant customer service.

But I do like their website layout.
