Haven't taken ISDS yet, but I heard it's difficult. I would say ECON 705 and ACCT 701 have been the toughest of the core. Dr. Vines for FIN was great, made a B. MKT 701 with Dr. James kept you really really busy.

I strongly suggest you wait to get an MBA until getting work experience.
A huge piece of a MBA is the opportunity to explore other disciplines and pivot your career. Until you have experience, you are highly unlikely to know what direction you want to take your career over the long term.
This is a much broader / longer conversation and we have explored it a little bit in this thread at an earlier date. Especially as someone from a technical background, give yourself a few years in the current role before you take the time to get a MBA (and make sure that you join the program that provides the learning and opportunities you will need).

I've been checking my personal "My LSUS" page and 3 of my 4 transcripts have been received and they should get the 4th one anytime now.
How does the process go once they've received all transcripts? I started my application 10 days ago.

It's all phone contact going forward, at least it was for me. I rarely got stuff via email. Pick up the phone and give them a call if you haven't heard from them.

Thanks Paul. They change status on certain things on the "My LSUS" site. Would be nice when a status changes if they would send a notification email, instead of me having to keep checking up on it.
That's good to know that they're not big emailers. I'll just have to plan on calling them. Email is so much more efficient though... :)
How long did it take for them to officially accept you into the program once they had received all your transcripts?

Well, they've had all my transcripts for a week now. Just waiting to get accepted in.
A question for those who are currently in the online MBA program or finished it. Are there lots of papers to be written? How long do they need to be. I'm a good writer but not a fan of the time it consumes.
By taking one course per term, will I have ample time to do assignments while running my commercial real estate business during the day?

Paul Allen and others would be more help in regards to the paper question. I have 2 heavy writing classes in the Fall. Only advice I could give is learn to compartmentalize.

PA, how was Meeks as far as grading on the papers? Were the skill builders difficult?
Posted on 8/7/16 at 11:26 am to 9BREES9
Meeks was easy. I made a 100% in the class, no lie
MADM 752 is a lot tougher tho
Skill builders were a breeze

Yes, in certain courses more than others. MADM and marketing classes require a lot.

Depends on the course. Nothing too extreme. The most I wrote for an assignment was 2000 words.
Yes, you'll be ok to fit this into your career. They give you an entire week to complete assignments.

9BREES9, I'm taking MADM 760 along with ACCT 701 in Fall AP1 and MADM 720 in Fall AP2. A little worried about doubling up in the fall since its during football season (I try to make most LSU games and some Saints games). What did you think of Vines last test? I didn't get one math problem, all definitions and concept questions.

lsusports, same on my end; no math whatsoever. I found the previous 2 modules easier in regards to finding concept questions. You have Mabry for 720? I hear you on the game situation. I'm already looking forward to the end of the semester bc my wife and I are going to Tampa this year for our yearly Saints away game lol.

That's good to hear on Meeks! So I take it as far as his grading goes, just make sure to follow his directions and don't worry about being Einstein? Also, in regards to the skill builders, was the info easy to find in the book?

Vines last test was my best. I made a 94. More conceptual than arithmetic.

So, Admissions has had all my transcripts for 10 days now and I'm just waiting to hear from them. How does it work when they contact you to let you know you're accepted?
Do they direct you to the "My LSUS" page to start picking courses, etc? I'd like to get a good understand of the next steps in the process. I wanted to start at the end of this month but not sure they will be able to process me in time.

Yeah, and you'll get a letter in the mail. You'll also get a phone call from a 318 area code assisting you with any and all questions that you may have.

Just ran across this and not reading the whole thread. I finished it in May 2015 and I'm currently in their MHA program. Solid program and would recommend it to anyone currently working. It came down to getting the best bang for my buck since my work only pays 2k a year toward it. I did it in a year working full time, among other things, and plan to do the MHA the same. I hate the MHA program isn't in 7 week blocks though.
