Is this not deductible from my Louisiana tax return? I thought it used to be.

If you itemize on your federal return and if you claim the state and local sales tax deduction instead of the state and local income tax deduction, then it would be deductible on federal and because of that, would be part of the itemized deduction line on your state income tax return.

With Salt being capped at 10k I didn't even put it on my federal return. Thanks

Haha. why would Louisiana charge you sales tax on a vehicle and then when you file your taxes let you deduct that very same sales tax?
