2 year contestability period in Louisiana.
This.
Even if you lie on the application, or kill yourself, the company can’t “contest” the death after two years.

Mine has a 2-year clause. I’ve always been afraid that I will make my wife mad and shortly after commit suicide by shooting myself twice in the back of the head.

Most policies deny coverage until after two years

Most policies have a term where they don't pay for suicide like 5 years.
Some don't cover it at all

Yea but it sounds like you’re going through a tough time, there’s no shame in talking to someone.

What about what you're going through right now? I mean, I know this is a BS message board and folks like to laugh and kid around (as do I), but with the range of issues you've just gone through/are going through right now, responsible board members are going to be concerned when you phrase the topic as in the OP.
Taking the best care of your health at this time should be your top priority. I get the whole "getting my affairs in order", which all folks over a certain age should be doing, regardless. If you're good, I'll leave it at that. If not, make sure you have notes from this thread about resources and offers to talk about it.

I’d imagine there is an exclusion for suicide in every life insurance policy.
IIRC they can not exclude suicide but most if not all have a 1 year period from signing that they will not cover suicide.
Yes I have seed a case where a man took out his policy and suck started a glock on day 367.
Insurance paid out.

Saw your recent post on the OT. Keep squeezing the marrow out of life, good man.

If my wife could squeeze 5 years more out of life(regardless of her condition) I sure as shite ain’t giving up at 1 year after diagnosis. I’m out to prove these doctors wrong ??
