Nice. Who do you bank with that gives you debit card rewards?

Actually, I think that's backwards. I'd rather be able to handle money properly. I can pay someone to define words for me.
Luckily, I can do both. How about you?

Online account with Perkstreet, use it for business expenses.

Even on the money board, cynical, cursing responses to valid questions. You're pissed because my question is sound; Dave Ramsey or not. Please explain to me why getting every credit card under the sun with an intro APR of 0% will secure me financially.
That alone certainly won't secure you financially
But building solid credit isn't a bad thing by any stretch.
The guy that can get 30K of 0% interest over that time also has the capability of being able to get locked into a prime low interest fixed mortgage. Someone without established credit wouldn't be able to lock into something that sweet.

Ok. Haven't looked in to them. I use Paypal for business and they offer a 1% for card purchases as well. Would love to find local that did.

OK genius, explain to me how I'm using the term "financially literate" incorrectly. Enlighten me with your superior command of the English language.

Most people I know are clueless about money management. I used to be one of them, lol.

That's a really stupid comment!

IMO,There's absolutely nothing wrong or unusual about being clueless about financial management as long as you're open to learning and growing. I don't know squat about a lot of things, but I try my best to educate myself.
Ramsey seems to operate under the impression that people either can't or don't want to do this. It looks like he's correct enough since he's making a decent living giving some pretty oversimplified advice.

I think what Dave Ramsey gives people the most is hope that they can work through their issues and take control of their situation.
Many people make money giving motivational speeches, Dave's is just more practical to put into practice.

I disagree, it's for people who haven't the slightest clue and need to learn how to crawl before they can walk, let alone run.
DR isn't terrible by any means, but 0% APR is free money. Literally. It's what you do with the money that matters in this case, not whether you borrowed to get it.

Let's just say that it's been awhile.

Not much in the way of interest, I just have a long and extensive history of paying bills on time.

Currently 3.25% for 30 years. No points.

What I've noticed, and this is purely anecdotal, is that most people never leave the crawling phase and it doesn't seem that Dave offers a way into the walking/running phase. In fact, I think he keeps people there by pushing his anti-debt rules so hard from the beginning.
What I usually see from his fans (at least the ones I know) is that they read his first book, grab on to his rules like they are the gospel and start to see a little success with them. Then they begin to feel like they've found "the secret" and go around telling everyone else how bad consumer debt is.

Totally agree with this. The government doesn't even get it this cheap.

But I think for those people, they weren't going to advance beyond the crawling stage anyway.
They're better off crawling than drowning in perpetual debt and going bankrupt.

The irony is Dave Ramsey's advice isn't meant for Dave Ramsey. And he does not practice what he preaches. And preach he does.
I know his past, I know his present. I live 10 miles from the guy. I have friends and clients who work or have worked for him. It's a well calculated strategy what he's done to build his audience. He makes good money selling that strategy to other businesses, and the person I know who paid for it has done very well.
FIFY
