Exactly our addiction to cheap Chinese goods will not allow us to withstand the pressure as many other countries.
If Trump stays this course, it will be at the expense of the Republican party when it comes to elections down the road
Just don't think these types of changes can be implemented in 2 years

Bringing manufacturing back the US, thus the tarrifs should stay in place?
Or removing tariffs so free trade can commence between two countries?
furthermore, you are talking about 2 sides of the same coin. the manufacturing issue only involves a handful of countries. strategies and tariffs vary.

So you are telling me Trump, who has been a successful international businessman for 4 decades and his right hand man Musk, who has been the biggest innovator and visionary of the last decade, went into this tariff announcement with no logical thought behind it?
lolololol, yes.

Anyone who has ever worked with Trump and spoken about it says that he’s not a numbers guy or a details guy, he’s an ideas guy. I think the people surrounding him found a way to enrich themselves in the chaos, both the country and Trump be damned. To accomplish that, they’ve managed to convince Trump that trade deficits are inherently bad and must be “solved”.
Again today, all the quotes coming from Trump have nothing to do with the tariffs other countries levy on our goods, currency manipulation, or anything else that would be indicative of other countries “treating us poorly”. He just keeps repeating that the tariffs will stay as long as the trade deficit remains. For anyone who knows even the basics of international economic systems, that’s horrifying.
