I have an LLC I no longer use. I did my final tax return and from what my CPA has said it's closed out with the State and IRS. However, it's not closed out with SOS bc the form has to be notorized and there are 4 partners that have to sign. So my question for those that have old LLC's did you dissolve them or just let them float along not in good standing? Will it just become inactive?

I had a LLC in Louisiana years ago. It's not in good standing with SOS. I haven't made money with it for past several years and don't even file taxes under it anymore. I just consider it defunct.

I just let mine float along in poor standing should I ever need it again it’s a few reports and filing fees and I’m back in business

Don't dissolve it via affidavit or you (or whoever the members are) become personally liable for any debts of the company.

We had an LLC for a rental property. When we sold it in 2017, the closing attorney suggested we keep it for a few years in case a tenant comes along to sue us. It's simple enough to keep it in good standing.
