How to make 100k a year?

What’s your degree? How long have you owned the house? Relationship status? There are ways to lower your monthly costs, but I imagine it depends on what you feel is worth changing in your life.

Political science. I have owned the house for a year. Mortgage is 1400. The thing is I hate my job the number one reason is there is no room for advancement and I feel like I reached my ceiling at 32. I have applied for a few sales jobs on the internet but no response because I don’t have experience in sales. My current job is in construction. I work for a mom and pop company that actually does really well in its field the problem is all the top positions are occupied by young family members.

I used to be in your shoes. I made between $24,000-$45,000 working full time from the time I got out of LSU with a fricking humanities degree until this year when I decided to FINALLY take a leap of faith while holding my nose and went out on my own. I am in the financial services industry and always worked for someone else, juggling my schedule around their mandated schedule, getting sick often from stress and burn out. I went from job to job thinking something was wrong with me. Once I went out on my own and started working for myself my stress level is much lower, I don't think burn out is even possible at this point, and as long as I continue on the pace I've been at I'm on track to gross $120,000-$140,000 a year. I also work half as much as I did before.


Maybe you just need to start something yourself instead of continuing to fund someone else's lifestyle.

No student loans, credit card debt or car note.

What specifically are you doing at this construction company? How long have you worked there?

You need either a side hustle or get into sales.

And sales is something you're born to.

You can try to go slow with something like real estate, but this may require a significant lifestyle adjustment.

Haha the governor part made me laugh. I really don’t k now too much about construction. My job pertains along the lines of managing production of the product and the employees. I hate being a manager. I hate being in charge of people’s actions. It’s like babysitting.

Well if you manage the production of construction products now then perhaps you should consider a career in construction sales. You already have an idea of how to produce quality materials, you could use that knowledge to convince a prospect that what you're selling is better than anything else on the market. Believe me, a little bit of knowledge-induced confidence in your voice goes a very long way when trying to close a deal.
