I'm HR at a plant with about 500 folks. We are really slowing down hiring, but we have a couple jobs still posted.
Electrical Engineer - 1 applicant in the past 30 days
Utilities Engineer - 0 applicants in the past 30 days
Machine Operator - 16 applicants in the past 30 days, and I'm trying to hire about 10 for expansion.
Electrician - 3 applicants in the past 30 days
Logistics Coordinator (remote) - over 1200 applicants in the past 30 days. Resume's are hilarious, service industry, band members, uber drivers, couple hundred truck brokers, and a few teachers.
Someone already alluded to it, but you are not only competing with local folks, but the entire country. Plus, for remote, b/c payroll taxes, we aren't hiring anyone in a state where we don't already have a presence.

Start peeing sitting down and I’m sure the recruiters will notice you

No such thing as progress bro
We’re all just picking taxes in chains. If you wanted to help him you’d tell him to get a disability check and be free

Agreed, I can 100% do my current job from home but they won't allow it.

Thanks for the insight. If could choose I'd definitely go with a hybrid type schedule. Being at my office 7am-4pm everyday plus a 45 min commute there and back everyday just aint it... And I can do this job from home too, but they won't allow it.

I have been WFH for close to 3 years now, I work in data analytics so pretty much it can entirely be done at home and for the most part I do enjoy it more than going into the office, it feels a little easier on my life and I think it could help some of that burned out feeling people experience.
None the less, I am currently starting to realize what is being said about career growth within your place does seem to be more challenging when you WFH.
But for websites there is remote tech jobs, which is a lot of IT/Data/Software base work but there should be a good bit sales and account management type positions as well

I've been a Inside Sales Rep for a roofing company since then, a lot of companies didn't want to hire because I had no "hands on" marketing experience.
You're a marketing major. Think about how to spin what you've done to more closely align with what they're looking for.
Have you learned how to ask the right questions to see what people need?
Have you put together plans that address the customers need and align with their budget and sold them through?
Have you done an analysis of the roofing market and determined where your company fits and can win?
Have you done any research (official or otherwise) to get feedback from your customers on your service, product, etc relative to others in the industry?
Have you offered to take on any other projects that would give you more direct hands on marketing experience?
It's all in how you sell what you've done...you're doing marketing now, and your major should've positioned you to illustrate that to potential future employers.
