Didn’t realize this was a thing. We would qualify…do you just apply when setting up the account for your child?

Yeah just open the account and if you qualify for the 250 supposedly it will just be deposited at some point

A retirement balance in the six figures when you turn 18 that still has about 50 years to grow... The kid will have millions to retire on, if they don't put a single dollar in after turning 18.

A 529 will evaporate before they're 25, probably for a mostly useless degree that took them six years to get.
