We use iScribe which integrates with the Athena EMR we use, so it's HIPAA compliant.

20 patients a day is one patient every 24 minutes. Why can’t she chart during that time?” Reading comprehension is not one of your skills, obviously. She has the AI transcription, she doesn’t have any problem completing her charts by the end of the day.
Sorry bud but your critical thinking skills aren’t very good.
If your documentation is taking so long you don’t have time to complete the other tasks but still get your documentation done on time, you can still have a documentation issue. It’s very possible she is an over achiever, that’s great. But if you are routinely working from home and your supervisors and administrators don’t know the full scale of this, you are doing something wrong as an employee, end of story. You are holding yourself liable for work done off the clock and away from the office and furthermore, you likely aren’t getting recognized for it in regards to reviews, raises, etc.

This. This is the same reason I make it an issue when people under-bill hours to clients on my projects. I don't know if I need to extend the next project by 30%+ more hours if you're working 8-8 everyday and only reporting 40 a week. Maybe it's a system integration problem that makes your life hard, maybe it's because the client takes over meetings and objectives don't get accomplished, maybe it's because people in the practice have inappropriate expectations for non-emergency updates/responses, etc.

I don’t know why I bother responding to your ignorant posts.Did you not read the part about having to call pts.abnormal lab results, echo reports etc.
Also about having to spend time fighting with insurance companies.
Obvious you never worked in medical field.
Pts.are not like working on an assembly line putting together widgets where you have so much time per widgets and if you don’t met your quota you are doing something wrong.
She had a pt.yesterday that blew up her whole day.Pt.has a severe aortic stenosis and needs a TAVR because he’s not a candidate for surgery.Office called him 4 times to get him to come in but he doesn’t answer his phone because it’s “always telemarketers”.Wrote him a letter asking him to come in which he did. Then he’s mad at the Dr.because he never called him which it’s documented they called him 4 times but he doesn’t answer his phone. Long explanation of why he needs the procedure,he doesn’t believe it.Have to show him his echo,go over all his symptoms for which he came in in the first place.Get the Dr. to come in and talk to him.He finally agrees but he has to be set up for some other lab work .
Spent close to an hour, there went the 28 minutes you think she has to be allotted or she’s not being efficient.
As far as reviews and raises that’s not an issue. When her previous Dr. retired 3 Drs called wanting to hire her. She’s planning on retiring June 30’th ,Dr.trying to get her to stay 3-4 more years until he retires, gave her a raise as a bribe.
Her previous Dr. decided he doesn’t like being retired,he’s back in business.Called her a couple of times trying to hire her back,he used to periodically gripe about how much he was paying her .Now he wants her back,go figure.
I mentioned in previous post, which I doubt you read, she has quite a few pts.that have seen her for 25 years, followed her from 1 job to another.

Ok, no fix for your problem then, I guess. Therefore, yes, she can continue to expect more of the same. What other answer did you expect? She works like a computer guy that is always doing favors for little old ladies who keep clicking on gambling sites. He'll eventually get fired for not being productive enough while complaining he's burned out.
Maybe she could suggest the clinic hire someone to do follow up and scheduling. Maybe the doctor needs to refer patients like this dude out to someone else. Maybe she stops treating pts like stray dogs and not baby them so much. You've rebuffed every suggestion you've been given, and gotten angry at people that suggest there's an alternative.

Bruh...OP is in here complaining about having to work extra for no extra pay. You are in here complaining about the same issue, but that your near retirement age wife is getting not just fairly compensated for her extra work but paid EXTRA.
Do you realize your ignorance? OP not getting paid extra, your wife is getting paid extra.
Its not even close to the same issue. If your wife is working outside of her "scheduled" hours but is compensated for that I really don't see what the issue is here?

Needs to be more efficient in charting at work. I see much time wasted with gossip and talking during time between patients.

“ Ok,no fix for your problem then,I guess”
When did I said I had a problem ? I had a problem when she was working the 60 hr week job on salary.
Now if she spends a few hours at night working on the computer to get ready for the next day I have no problem with that.I was just responding to the O P that his wife was not the only one that was working on computer at home.Children are grown, she cooks several times a week so I don’t go hungry.
As far as her work ethic, she has always been the type to give it 110%,go the extra mile and has a lot of patience with difficult pts.like the old man I wrote about. We worked together before we got married,I marveled at her energy level and work ethic. She never sat around chit-chatting,If things were slow she would even be cleaning the glass in the nsg.station, dusting he monitors, anything to keep busy.
She’s very good at her job with an encyclopedic knowledge of blood pressure and cardiac meds.I have been here when female Drs call her on her day off for advice about treating their pts blood pressure or arrhythmias.
( they don’t want to ask a man). One female Dr. told me “your wife is better at doctoring than I am and I went to medical school”
On top of her job,she gardens, has crazy large flower bed,got a above ground swimming pool for the grandchildren and is always farting around with the water to keep it perfect. She wanted a pond, now she’s always messing with that, testing the water adding this and that to keep that water perfect, also.
Then she’s at church every Wed and Sunday night working with the youth group.
,2 years ago she wanted her own Zero turn mower and helps me mow our acres of grass.
Point is,if she wants to spend time on the computer at night I have no problem with it and I never complained about it.
Almost forgot,I have 5 deer mounted on my walls. The highest scoring antlers are one she killed.

She says it is just part of the job. Am I wrong on this?
Yes. I'm a doctor. It's a non-reimbursable service. She should be more efficient and do it during the day. Of course, that would require her to see less patients and generate less revenue. Her pay would most likely decrease. I don't like it either and I'm self employed. She can certainly put her foot down and demand to be paid for her extra time, but there is a glut of NP's out there looking for jobs and willing to take hers for less and do the paperwork on their own time.

100% troof right there. We got NPs that are picking up hours for RN pay. Several I know are pissed when they graduate NP school due to being a lateral move in income OR LESS with more responsibility
