This number is seems crazy. Average v. “average” investor seem to get conflated when that 3 million individual holders gets tossed around. If not, the definition of “retail” investor is applied liberally.
How many shares does retail own? Easy to answer that. You take the total amount of issued shares, and subtract insiders and institutions. Thing is, the volume traded and the amount of shares shorted cannot make the math work, so the only logical explanation is, there a shite ton of fake shares out there.

BAM Investor video... Could be some valuable information for those looking at AMC. I am posting on this thread specifically because of his modeling regarding AMC and the forecast/outlook of the company... nothing to say regarding the squeeze, which is not the point. The point to me is, what is the likelihood I will take a major hit on my investment? It gives me confidence that while the stock may have highs and lows the model projects a bullish sentiment. Whether that is $20 or "the moon" as some like to say.... good luck.

Iborrowdesk says the interest rate to borrow is only 6.9%, which is not very high.

it really is incredible to go over to stocktwits and just see how many people realize this is a scare tactic. No one truly holding for months that have done their DD, are selling anything before 06/02/21. It would be dumb as frick to do

Now explain to me how if there is only 10K available to short, how did they short millions yesterday?

Here's my post from 7:30 this morning. This was expected. No surprise. First of next week is just the beginning for the real fireworks!

Fridays are usually a pull back day for this stock. Mondays are usually good for upward price movement. It would not surprise me at all, to see the price drop today, but then again FOMO is a powerful force, and we are clearly experiencing FOMO now leading into the June 2nd stock count.

Maybe so but who would borrow shares at that rate? You'd have have an insane conviction that the stock was going to tank.
I hope I'm wrong and we get the squeeze of our lives but it doesn't quite make sense to me.

I also mentioned it dropping it to 20. They might drop it to 5. Who cares. This is for generational wealth. Do u think it’s going to be easy? frick no. The DD has been done and it’s real. They are fricked. You need to hold if you want those once in a lifetime gains.
6/2 is a big deal and they need our shares.

Wasn’t bill hwang considered “retail”? In my opinion if you have a 9 digit+ trading account, you’re not really “retail”.

Back in the green. I’ll honestly take even the smallest gains today as long as it’s not a loss.
Either way I’m not selling.

I like the theory of ppl are so programmed. This is hard to imagine I get it. It’s not if u read what We keep saying. They fricked up this one time and the ppl caught wind and now it’s going to break them.

quote:Why not? Is there an amount of money in your account that defines how you buy a tv, car, or house? Anyone who is buying for themselves, isn't a decision maker at the company they want to buy stock in, or representing clients funds, is retail. The only time that changes, is if you have enough funds and want to purchase 5% or more of the outstanding shares.
