I've always used quicken. I'll buy the new versions every 3-4 years. It's not free, cost like 40-50$.

Some people will refer you to mint.com or whatever. I've never used it, but I believe its a free web based solution that is similar to quicken.

If you don't care about online services, Money Deluxe Sunset Edition works well and is free.

mint does the trick.

I guess if you want a more robust finance suite Quicken would probably have some features for investments that are probably magnitudes better than mint's (Since theirs is almost nonexistent).

Also, the one feature I had back when I had Microsoft Money years ago and that I'm sure Quicken has is future projected balances. Mint doesn't have that so I still have to do calculations with my calculator on my PC.

This is why I don't use Mint. Tried it but not having the ability to schedule future/recurring payments killed the experience. Mint seemed good for budgeting/tracking past purchases but lacked on the cash flow/future expenses side

Have used Quicken the past 5-6 years with great success

I stick to excel. It allows me to forecast forward as far as I want and it allows me to customize as much as I want. It's more labor intense but 10 minutes a day to update my finances is probably a good thing.
