I'm about to start a small internet based retail operation and was thinking about using stamps.com. Most of what I'll be shipping is lightweight so I figured going through the mail would be the most convenient. I figure this is easier than going to the post office every few days and dealing that BS.
Is it worth it?

What is the advantage of stamps.com? If the postage meter is the only advantage I guess I could use a scale and get a good estimate from the site on the shipping costs?

The advantage is the postage meter and it allows you to keep track of postage for each customer. The downside is the monthly service fee.

I use it with a printer form Office Depot, Dymo, that I also use to print labels that I need for product. Nice setup that just a change of the roll prints the stamps as well.

also: I own a company that sets up merchant credit card processing accounts for ecomm...would love to help
