I want to find some local opportunities to invest money, for profit, in my local community. I want to find some like minded individuals to see what kind of opportunities are out there. I'm already pretty well diversified in stocks and I have some rental properties. Does anyone here have any experience looking for like minded investors in clubs or their local chambers of commerce?

Thanks in advance.

They are really not for making money. They are for teaching people how to invest on their own.

Most investment clubs, in my experience, are going to buy stocks and provide some social interaction. They’re typically not investing in local businesses and/or other hard assets.

I’m from a rural area, so we don’t have any dedicated investment clubs, but it forced me to think a bit more outside the box when looking for like-minded people.

My best advice is to become a regular at the places where money congregates: local bank lobbies, golf courses, higher end bars/restaurants, and upscale events (school, crewe, or garden club).

one way you could do that is to network with commercial real estate professionals

This is going to become my strategy. Maybe I didnt ask the correct question in my OP. I want to make some connections with some people who want to be successful. I understand there are a lot of risks but of you want to get out from under the 9-5 routine, you will have to take some kind of risk.

Thank you for your input

After joint this club I’m fully invested in STLHF, truck nuts, and any baw beer. My returns are killing it.
