Ouch. Down 12% in the last 5 days vs 9% drop by SLI.

ALB hit a peak just over $300 during the lithium craze. It's now at $99.

The only good news I see is that the current prices really make traditional lithium mining that much more unprofitable.
If SLI started producing, would they be able to just store the carbonate until the pricing improves?

I wish they were producing and stockpiling now as the wait for royalties to be settled. It would do the stock a world of good to be able to regularly report on the growth of the stockpile.

The expense to shareholders to do that would be pretty significant. Increased capital, opex, carrying cost of working capital, all with no revenue. Dilution would be huge for SLI to keep the cash flow high enough to support that.
Not to mention, they'd have to warehouse product which would likely mean sending it off site, which I'm not sure they are permitted to do in volumes like that.

Pretty humbling to see Saltwerx (Exxon) spend millions of dollars to drill a dry hole
htf do you miss an aquifer?

What are we expecting from this Fastmarkets conference Monday? Will there be an announcement of progress or will it be a sales pitch. Koch and Equinor being publicly present at the pitch makes me think I should load the boat.
Why am I wrong here? I went through the conference information, it looks like there are some heavy hitters in the industry.

I wouldn't expect anything exciting to happen on the spot. The Benchmark Giga conference in DC from a week ago had the same characteristics as next week's conference and nothing (publicly) exciting came of it right away. I'd also be surprised if they announce progress there; don't remember them doing that at any previous conferences.
I don't recommend stocks to friends or family (heard too many horror stories when things have gone south) but if I could I'd be all over SLI right now. Was excited to get some at like $1.43 the morning of the Equinor announcement.

Well I'm committed and do buy on the dips. I have got my average to 2.85 after today.

Dry holes aren’t always what they seem to be. Sometimes subsequent horizontals go into that wellbore/drainage is at play

Interesting, makes more sense than that Exxon, who has said that the drilling part for lithium production will be "easy" for them, just missed lol
In today's news, a private company announced plans to build a lithium plant in the Ark-La-Tex region. Looks like they're also in the pilot phase link

What ever happened with all the grants that were supposed to be given out?
Has the next round not happened yet?

Pic 1 from Feb earnings
Pic 2 from May earnings
Sounds like we should know by end of summer (pic 1) and that they want to have financing lined up in a way that isn't dependent on grants (pic 2).

Just look at this. Dozens of wells that were either "dry-holes" or plugged & abandoned immediately after completion. Yet pipelines tap directly into the well bores, all going straight back to Dow Chemical's plant. Also you can see where/how the sinkhole formed in the 3rd image, notice the contours marking the saltdome depths

I work in the federal grant space. The DOE has essentially thrown timelines out of the window and said we will get to these when we can. They don't have the staff or the reviewers to meet their expected timelines.
I heard the other day that only $17B of the $1.2T IRA has been allocated at the moment. Too much money to get through the system.

You sure this isn't SLI?

This is so much fun.
Oh boy, here I go averaging down again.

Is there any whispers that the Trump administration (should they win the election) would squash anymore of these grants being given out?
