Man I remember the last time I made a bunch of money on a company with inept management that released a product into a saturated market and couldn’t deliver on time
I held too long then too

Holding half my original position. Just getting lucky on my timing on the other half.

We're seeing some substantial dumps of a suspiciously uniform nature. It seems that someone with a whole lotta shares is converting them to cash.

Well shite

Yeah for a non penny stock or WKHS type situation, this is one of the most brutal downturns on a stock I’ve ever seen.
Are some similarities. WKHS was all about getting a contract with USPS and it didn’t happen
SLI has been all about a joint venture which hasn’t happened yet
That being said I am not selling and am still very optimistic about this one

What's giving you optimism at this point? Why the brutal last couple of weeks do you think?
Posted on 8/31/21 at 3:04 pm to Ron Cheramie
This might be the most demoralizing trading day I’ve seen yet on this one. Yikes.

There’s hasn’t been any negative news, just no news. What’s keeping me positive is that this stock was emergency uplisted and trading on the NYSE within a week for a reason.

I'm not sure the emergency uplisting was an emergency, just that by that point they had met the $4/share requirement to get uplisted.

Only once everyone gives up on sli and hates it and abandons it will something good happen

I know, the minute I sell the JV PR will come out the next day and i'll be chasing it and incurring the short term cap gains I locked in from selling the day before. Maybe if I just sell off one chunk of shares that would do the trick?

Do we still believe devaluation is priced in.
If it happens with no news, I'd be surprised if this price holds

What do you mean by devaluation?

I'm beginning to think we need a short position SLI thread.

Execute the shelf offering
Posted on 8/31/21 at 3:24 pm to Hogwallop
They said in the shelf offering PR that they had no near term plans to draw on that offering ("no need for it to execute on upcoming milestones" (presumably JV and FID on 1st plant)), and a final prospectus would have to be filed first. The selloff has been on pretty low volume as well. If they went to sell $250M in the open market, this would be sub $2 really really quick.

The frustrating aspects of this to me are the fact that lithium prices keep climbing. News and buzz about Arksansas are still floating (whether it is the LAC CEO mentioning it or other companies scooping up land deals). Goldman mentions it when talking lanxess. There is smoke there.
And this management has communicated updates before, making the silence so frustrating. We are late on some timelines and an update is completely fair game. We have been teased in July on a few other matters and an update is fair game.

Agree 100%. It's been maddening to watch lithium carbonate prices hit $13k/ton, ALB hit a new 52 week high every day, other pre-production companies like LAC and LLKKF near their 52 week highs while this is getting slaughtered. If not for the PR in June where Lanxess became a key shareholder in the company by converting the debt, I'd be concerned that the JV wasn't happening at this point. But there's too much smoke from that fact (Lanxess increasing their holdings here) for this (the JV) to not be happening, just at what point does it finally happen? They had multiple videos earlier this year (Crux Investor ones on Youtube) where they answered a question on the JV timing, at a minimum they need to get onto one of those pronto, but a better long-term solution would just be to get the damn thing done finally.
