Hello XXXX,
We are writing to inform you of a change to the terms and conditions of your American Express Serve® Account. Please review the change below:
Beginning February 1, 2015, MoneyPak® will no longer be available for purchase. Beginning April 1, 2015, Vanilla® Reload PIN will no longer be available to purchase. However, you can still easily add cash* to your Serve® Account directly at the register using Vanilla® Reload Swipe Load.
You can still add money to your account in many other convenient ways including Direct Deposit and free cash reloads at the register at 27,000 CVS/pharmacy®, Family Dollar®, Walmart® and participating 7-ELEVEN® locations. Click here to learn more.
You can review this change in the Consumer User Agreement here.
Thank You,
The American Express Serve Team
Is this email saying what I think it is saying? Or am I misreading what the Reload PIN product is, etc?
Now that I've read it again, I think it is just saying two way to load are no longer going to be sold next year so they're just letting us know. I feel fine now.

I sure was glad that I rammed through most of the GCs I needed to already either way

I have to spend $700+ dollars on a ticket to st kitts on AA what card would be best to capitalize off of this? The AA branded cards don't really appeal to me as I basically never fly AA but have to in this instance.

Some American Express cards give 3X points for airfare purchased.
The PRG Gold card gives 3X on flights purchased directly through airlines and 2X on gas.

I just got off the phone with Chase and am rather annoyed. Apparently, they won't allow you to use a corporate code and then pay with points for hotels for travel redemption bonus. I assume cards like the Arrival would be superior in that respect, as I would get the corporate discount and the 10% travel redemption bonus. Is there another card that offers an after the fact redemption (thus allowing the use of a corporate code at initial purchase) that I should target instead?
ETA: Does the Arrival+ ever go above the standard 40k signup bonus?

Josh, I'm confused. I haven't a clue. I've never tried doing such.
The Arrival has been at 40k points for quite a while now though.

Just got my wife's first "pending review" notice. Dang. Club Carlson Visa. Only her 3rd app in about 11 months or so. > 760 Fico.
Really want that card too and would have done on my AOR if I thought she would've been denied. Hopefully not.

I get pending review all the time. Then I get a card in the mail or an email giving me yet another huge credit line. It's probably no big deal at all. I don't even call the recon number. Just wait and the card comes.

What's the best way to dump 55k united points if you don't plan on travelling anytime soon?

Bummer. Do you put your combined income on the apps? Once I realized I could do that, I have no problems.

Man, how long is "soon?" I'd book me a nice trip to Europe for 60k or South America for 40k miles 6 to 11 months out. I'd rather do that then butcher the value down to 1 cent or less, which will be about the best you can do.
Hell, show a parent or something you love them and book them a ticket.

USBank the issuer of the Club Carlson card is known for their strict issuance policy and there are a couple of nuances that can improve your chances, but I rolled the dice since she has good credit and not an abundance of credit pulls. Time will tell if it was worth it. Hate to waste a credit pull though.

Definitely. I learned that when I first started playing the game as I had to go in to the Chase Bank to get the 50k United card and the rep informed me of that nice community property perk.

If you're worried about them expiring, there are ways to keep those points from expiration.

I'm posting my 20,000 post here because
A) This is where I probably post the most
B) I'm pathetic and have nothing fancy planned
I'll celebrate the $1,500 I just cycled through Serve today. Yippee

See above

I'm not judging...just observing. I've lost my right to judge.

I hope so. Terrible use of those points. Those can get a pretty awesome biz class seat to somewhere or RT coach to a lot of places.
