Ya the CSR changes didn't move the needle with me too much.
With IHG I'm glad I didn't cancel and will get another use.
I actually used Qantas to search availability. Worked really well.

Yeah, the price protection loss sucks and the not earning points on that $300 is weak it nothing I’d cancel over...yet.

Citi taking away benefits too now:
And a few other things. Seems all these guys are gonna push the boundaries to see when people squawk.

Damn. Thanks for the link. I was about to get a VISA card anyway.

I have several of the Chase credit cards. I am headed down to Cabo in a week. Could you recommend any of these cards to bring down there? CSR, Freedom, Ink? Looking at trying to save on currency exchange or any benefits? Thanks.

CSR should be the one you take down there.
Posted on 5/28/18 at 11:15 am to chuckitdeep
Yeah, CSR and it’s not close. Also, you might want to check and make sure your Debit/ATM card isn’t going to crush you on currency conversion fees for when you need cash.

Can you still do the whole “buy gas cards at Office Depot” and get 3x points since it’s at an office supply store?
Posted on 5/28/18 at 8:29 pm to Drew Orleans
Yes.
I have the 5x office supply store Ink card. I buy gas gift cards, amazon, etc.

The current offer is only 3x I believe. Should I have waited until the 5x makes a comeback?

He probably has the Ink Plus like I do which is 5x. The Ink Preferred is 3x. The Ink Cash is also 5x I believe.

can't get the Ink+ anymore. The 5x points at office supply stores is great. The Ink biz cash 5x at office supply stores is limited to $25k spending I think. Not sure. 25k purchases at OD earns 125k URs

I know, I was answering Drew's question about "waiting till it comes back" which it won't. And yes, the Cash is limited to $25k which is more than enough for some folks and it's a no AF card so as long as you have a premium with it it's a great card. I keep going back and forth on whether to keep my Plus as I don't max it out and I'm spending $95 for a card that the Cash does mostly the same thing for free..

I wish I would have got one for my wife when I first read this thread years ago! I max it out on the 5x the last 2 years and it resets this week, June 1. Gyft and OD has been the main 5x drivers. I might as well get the cash too since I have one slot left with Chase.

I have a plus and a cash with 5x.
I keep the Plus(old Bold) for transfer options to my own flyer accounts. Chase keeps moving the goalposts on transfers every so often so it's insurance.
I could be AU on my wife's CSR but again, game is always changing.

I downgraded my Plus to Cash a year or two ago. I don’t full blown manufacture spend, so I couldn’t justify the AF.
Posted on 5/29/18 at 10:49 pm to Teddy Ruxpin
Well shite. Now I’m wondering if I should have done the cash instead of the regular ink.
Posted on 5/30/18 at 3:34 am to Joshjrn
Yeah, I’m just too busy and lazy
to MS. But the more I see what I can do with UR, I know i need to do MS more. I do some here and there but the OD certainly sounds like the way to go. Right now I have Ink +, Cash, Preferred, and CSR but I’ll get rid of Preferred for sure before AF. Just need to decide on + but I’ll likely keep it.

Why are you getting rid of the preferred? What cards will you be using instead?
Got the wife’s LLC to sign up for the preferred so we can use that as our gas card/ at Costco since we don’t already have a Visa.
I already have the AMEX Platinum (primarily for the benefits and booking flights)
Barclay Arrival Plus (for travel and every day use)
Figured the ink would be a good addition for gas cards, paying for internet, etc.
