My wife probably gets so annoyed when I start celebrating and then explain how I pulled it off. Hitting the Chappelle times up clock.

Question for the more "affluent" flyers here.
Can you not book business or first class tix straight through Chase's UR portal?

I haven't done so but I don't see why not. You're using the points as cash so it should be an option to buy whatever seats are on offer.

there is a box in the search to get higher class tickets.
eta
When you do the drop down box for number of travelers, the first option is for class type

Hmm, when I was looking yesterday I saw the boxes but they were greyed out. Only economy was available.
I'll check on my laptop.

Delta comfort was under either business or economy plus on the UR portal.

Thinking of downgrading my Ink + to the Ink Cash and getting the CSP. Actually, even though I'm still crying I didn't get the 100k bonus it would probably make more sense to get the CSR, right? It's basically $55 more than the CSP and it has better reward values. Just sucks for that card to only get a 50k sign-up bonus.
Seems to be the best way to have these cards. I guess I could even get a Freedom at some point but I'll be back at 5/24 once I get the CSP or CSR so the Freedom will have to wait.
Any flaws with this thinking? Other suggestions?

You sure you want to give up on 125K UR a year? With more and more limited opportunities to earn UR (max 3x now with Ink Pref), it hurts so much when people downgrade Ink+. It should be made illegal

CSR argument is exactly true. You are crying about 50K? I upgraded my CSP to CSR for 0K

Ink+ = $50K a year limit for 5X. Ink Cash is limited to $25K. So 250K UR vs 125K UR limit.
Since you can't get the Ink+ anymore (discontinued), opting out of the extra 125K is something I wouldn't personally do.
Next best option now is 3X with Ink Preferred on upto $150K a year. Not bad if you don't have it yet especially with the 80K offer.

The 80k bonus was nice but there's no way to MS any of their 3x categories.. at least not that I'm aware of. I'm paying my internet/cable bill with it but it's otherwise been sock drawered. I will likely downgrade to Ink Cash at some point before the annual fee hits to get in on the 5x at office supply stores.

Yes, but that is the highest UR you can earn now with any new UR card.

Im not sure you can do that. If you can, I'd definitely do that myself on SO's Ink pref.

Isn't the Ink Pref a fairly new card? I figure it may become an option once card members have held the card for longer than a few months.. hopefully.

I love the Ink+ 5x. I have hit it almost to max each year. Not giving it up. Phone, satellite and general office supplies expenses that I am paying each month on the card are great and then mix in the OD GCs its a home run for me.

Not just highly unlikely but improbable if Chase's recent strategies are any evidence.

I won't even hit the $25k, so $50k is out of reach. I don't do the crazy amount of MS you do. I have my cell, internet/cable, etc on auto-pay and I do buy GC's for gas and Amazon sometimes, but still not enough for $25k. I don't want to downgrade the card as I really do like it, but I don't see a reason to pay the extra $95 when the Cash does what I need. Unless you can tell me an easier way to get to that $50k without making it a 2nd job?

Alright, you're making me feel better.

It takes 5 minutes to place an order and log the purchase on a spreadsheet twice a month for GCs. 2 orders a month = $45K a year. Say 1hr to liquidate and deposit twice and pay the bill once in a month. That is a total of 2h and 10m per month give or take. At 1.5c per point towards travel, you are "earning" @ $135 an hr. For 1 cpp cashback, you are earning $90 an hr at the very least.
#1 - 2h and 10m a month is hardly a "second job"
#2 - If it is a job, it pays pretty well!
Just my opinion

Let's talk about this offline soon if you don't mind. I'd rather keep the card and an extra 100K+ UR would justify the $95 easy.

Yes I may consider getting back into it. These domestic flights are killing me lately so it would be nice to offset.
