Just used my IHG card and my wife's IHG card free nights for a couple nights at the Willard in DC. Not bad turning $100 combined of annual fee for two nights at $550 each, $1100 total.
That is the only reason we keep the IHG card. The $49 annual fee and free night anywhere in the world is hard to beat

I'm keeping my Hyatt card for that reason. I easily get the value of the AF from the free night.
Are there limits on the IHG card nights?

SPG to Marriot 1:3 (and vice-versa) is live. Very good deal.
Edit: Instant status match and instant point transfer.
Just to put things in perspective: 80K SPG used to be 100K AA. Now 84K SPG = 7 nights at Cat 1-5 Marriott + 100K AA through Marriott nights and flights. Or 100K SW and you are 10K away from CP.

I keep the IHG card as well. I have received great benefits out of this card. I stayed 4 nights at the hotel indigo in Rome for practically free based on sign up points from my card and my wife's. I am now using the anniversary free night from both our cards to book the Venetian in Vegas. I really really like the card especially with a 49 dollar annual fee.

No there are no category/tier limits on IHG annual nights unlike Hyatt.

Correct, you can use your free night at any IHG brand in the world

I remember someone having the idea which would essentially make a credit card act like a debit card with all the rewards. Unless this is that person, I think they got beat to the punch on this.

Can you walk me through the marroitt nights and flights numbers you posted?
Posted on 9/23/16 at 11:33 am to AmeriKop45
My wife and I have about 50k aa each and 40k cSr points. Is there anyway to find business or better rewaRd flights back from bora bora with this combo?
We also have Marriott and ihg points.

Creamer I went to Bora Bora 3 years ago and I dont know if its bc it was such a nightmare flying there but man Seychelles, I went there as well last year, it was the same thing and ALOT easier flight. I went houston to dubai to seychelles and emirates airline was 100x nicer than the tahitian airline I had to take from LA to papeet to bora. Just thought Id mention that. Seychelles was incredible

Here are the packages: Marriott Nights and Flights
At the Tier 1-5 level, you need 250K Marriott points for 7 nights and 100K airline points. With the 1:3 SPG transfer that went live today, you would need 83.33K SPG points to get those 250K marriott points.
No way to get back from PPT in J with your current miles balance unfortunately. Honestly, your only option with AA miles would be Air Tahiti Nui which has a meh Business class with angled lie flats.
As far as Ultimate Rewards go - You can book RT in J through Korean on AF for 90K. But remember - RT only.
Out of curiosity - where in Bora Bora are you staying?
Seychelles was on my radar a couple months ago. Looks awesome. Takes a loong time to get there and a bit too close to Somalia though that has deterred tourism there a bit.

I know Hyatt initial two free nights expire after 1 yr but does the annual free nights with Hyatt and IHG expire after a certain period or do the roll over?

Thanks for the input, I'll look into it.

Nights are split between both ihg resorts, Moorea and Thalasso. I started saving points for the trip several years ago and haven't found a better beach option for ihg reward nights.

Wow you found award availability at the Thalasso? I can't anymore.
I don't think it gets any better than the Thalasso at Bora Bora. It books you directly into an OWB unlike other resorts where you are paying a load to get into one.

I got 1 reward night at thalasso and I am using the ambassador weekend bogo for an additional night. So I am technically paying for 1 and getting 3. When I began this plan the thalasso nights were easy to come by, until every blogger wrote about it. I would rather pay for zero nights but I'll take what I can get.

Just go the email from SPG to link my Marriott account, so I guess there's no harm in it. I have 1,500 Marriott points about to expire so if I can get 500 SPG points I guess I'll take em
Does this mean the hotel values are going to get all fricked up now or we still have time? I plan on going to the Westin Whistler next year ski season and it's 48,000 SPG for 5 nights as normal SPG.
ETA: These shitbirds won't let me transfer 1,500. It has to be increments of 1,000. So I can only do 1,000 for 333 SPG points
ETA: Got my answer. SPG is good till 2018 separately.
