Gas falls under gasoline. It's its own category. Like groceries.

The only thing you should be using the UA card is to call the number on the back of the card to cancel it.

My AF is coming up and unless they waive it I will definitely be cancelling it now that I have the Ink+. The only advantage to that card is the free checked bags and priority boarding, but I barely ever check bags. I do like priority boarding but I rarely fly with United anyway, so I'll be saving the $100 and opening up CL by dropping it.

I apologize if I missed the answer to this, but does anyone know how airline gift cards are coding? I've already scheduled all of the travel I know I'm going to be doing through the end of the year, so I wanted to make sure I had a backup for the $300 travel voucher for this calendar year if I picked up the CSR.

Can you confirm that app codes it for travel?

Confirmed. I did $600 this year. Plat x 2, PRG x 2. $100 each transaction.

Negative with CSR

Use $300 before December, $300 after and cancel on month 12 if you want to. So you come out with 100K points and + $150. (Plus other fringe benefits for a year)

I didn't understand this when you posted it. But I just spoke with them and now I do. This really was a sweet deal. It's per calendar year so in the next 11 months I get 600 in credit. But I've made up my mind to keep this card regardless and cancel one of my two United world explorer cards which charge me $95 per year. I'll keep my second united world explorer.

With all due respect, you shouldn't talk to Chase about stuff like that Plus, CSRs don't know jack most of the times. I think it is safe to say most people on here know wayyyyyy more than any cc company csr.

I was calling when I could start using the account since I am about to book some travel and she said "not only do you get $300 credit now but Jan 1 you can get another $300. I didn't say anything else

But was absolutely shocked to be speaking with an American and have zero hold time. I guess the folks with nicer cards get the love...

I am extremely grateful for the guys that keep this thread going. Thanks to y'all I now have a total of 150,000 miles that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. And it's basically cost me nothing. That's more than a trip to Europe for my wife and I.

Thanks MT board!

If you can, try to book a trip before mid-october (before a UA deval). You can really stretch your miles if you book before that. Remember - you can book a trip 330 days out.

Either way - definitely ask here before you book a trip. Some tips and tricks to stretch your miles.

When I re-up my Costco membership, will I get 5% cashback if I use my Chase Freedom card? Do membership fees count for cashback, I know that gas doesn't unless you go in the store and sign up for a pre-paid costco gift card.

FYI, I got the CSR in the mail the other day. Chase had spelled my last name wrong. I sent them a message via internet banking and they had a new card out to me the same day.

I just received the new card tonight. While it is the same card number and color as the CSR, it is a typical plastic card with numbers embossed on the front.

Now I am at a loss of what to do. I liked the thick metal feel of the CSP and the new CSR.

Just thought someone may need to know this. I'm guessing you have to specify you want the metal card

They did not expect the high demand of the CSR and ran out of the metal ones for now.

They'll send replacement metal. When I got the Ritz card it was plastic at first. Then they sent the metal replacement. If you like the CSP and CSR you'd love the feel of the Ritz card. One ounce of metal.
