How many cards did you open in the last 24 months? If it is 5 or more take the AmEx offer
I've opened 4 in the last 24 months but just got the Citi Prestige about month ago. So, I was thinking of getting the citi premier to compliment it and add a few more Thank You Points.
Think I should just pull the trigger on the American Express gold?

Hmm. Due to the rumored implementation of the Chase 5/24 rule I'd add in Chase card to make it 5 first. The Freedom Unlimited probably. Then apply for any other cards. I don't see a reason why you shouldn't apply for all 3 unless you think you can't meet the minimum spends. (total of $4,500)
Since you don't have any other AmEx cards I tend to believe this may not be the last time you are going to get a targeted AmEx offer. It is a pretty flex situation for you. If you don't want the Chase, get whichever one you think you have more utility for.

Tell me more. I did go and buy $500 in gas certs from a Office Depot recently to get the 5x on my Ink+.
What kind of gas cards can you get? I never see them at OD.

LINK
Buy from there. 8% off plus codes as office supplies purchase for 5x on ink.
Stack with other ebay deals and portals for more cash back including buying a ebay gc first then buying other store gcs.

The eBay gas cards categorize as office supplies?
Posted on 4/21/16 at 3:14 pm to AmeriKop45
I see. Thought there was gas cards at the store. Don't have Connoco or 76 near me but I'm sure I can find some others. I continue to rethink how I buy stuff. Thanks.

I recently purchased a laptop from Samsung.com and had my Ink code it as a "utility". I also went through the UR portal for an extra 2 points, so getting about 8,000 points on a $1,200 purchase I was making anyway was nice

Did you know it coded that way going in?
I should probably check some codes before I do stuff more often.

Nope. The thought occurred to me that it might code as office supplies, so I used my Ink instead of my Hyatt I was working on spend for just in case. Ended up working out pretty well
As a general rule, I err on the side of the possible. Is this possibly going to be coded as a restaurant? Sapphire. Is this possibly going to be coded as office supply? Ink. Etc, etc.

Hmm. Interesting. Did you do a price comparison in other stores for that product?

It had literally just been released. No one else was carrying it.
I just checked, and it still isn't being sold by Bestbuy. Newegg has it for the retail price I paid. I don't really see anyone else carrying it.
ETA: It's this laptop, if anyone actually cares: LINK

Anybody familiar with the MLife rewards program? I matched my Hyatt diamond to MLife platinum. I see the Beau Rivage is a MGM property. I was just curious the perks. It says 2 free monthly buffets and free? Valet. Just wondering if anybody ever uses it and any other perks usually given.

I stayed at Bellagio in Vegas with a friend that matched his Hyatt Diamond to M Life Platinum. We had a private check in with free drinks/snacks, got upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite from a regular suite, and basically skipped to the front of the line for everything(taxi, bell hop, club, etc.). We also recieved table service with 1 comped bottle at Bank, but I think his gambling and the good looking girls in our group helped with that.
All in all the perks are decent and, as you would expect, seem to get better with the more money you spend.

I think I'm going to do some gambling at the MGM properties this year to try and leverage that status to hopefully get some room comps at beau rivage. I gambled enough to get comped rooms at harrahs Nola last year 5 or 6 times and free nights in Vegas, but not enough to gain upper tier status. Wish I could get harrahs total rewards program to status match. No go.

When you book your JAL F tickets do you just book them 365 days in advance or whenever they first release award space? I am thinking either do that, or book the award in AA Y, then upgrade when award availability opens up (usually 2 weeks out seems to show decent availability).
I am contemplating doing the same on my flight back from Greece on LH. (ATH-MUC-IAH-MSY). 220K miles for 1 way for 2 is just painful though..
Also - I am noticing now that Singapore switched products from the A380 to the 77W on the IAH-DME route. I don't look at this often but I was pretty sure it used to be the A380 a few months ago. When did that happen?

I got the weirdest thing going on right now hurting my brain.
I booked a one way ticket a few days ago on United. I've been waiting for it to show in Mint so I could categorize it and date it. It fails to show up as a transaction.
I bought the corresponding one way back today, and my Google calendar clearly shows the previous flight, so it definitely picked it up from the confirmation email.
I can't find that email(that I always keep) so I request it from the confirmed booking on united.Com so I can figure out what credit card I used so I can maybe find it in Mint that way.
The confirmation email shows the last 4 digits of a card I don't even own to my knowledge being used to purchase the ticket.
Wtf?
I wonder if I blacked out and committed credit card fraud on accident or something.
Maybe I bugged the United site and got a free ticket on accident? Don't want to show up to my confirmed flight and it all be bugged though.

I've done both. I've always taken the ORD-NRT and return to ORD routes from the US. I found it to have the best availability. I've booked 300+ days out in F and I've booked in J and upgraded to F when it came available without issue as well.

That is painful. I might suck it up and sit with the poor folks for that amount of points.

I didn't know they ever flew the A380 on that route. I was looking at taking that route a couple of years ago and it was on the 77W. It's a solid redemption value though and F looks pretty damn good on it as well.

Out of all the scenarios, I'm going with this being the least likely

You have your record locator?

I got the 6 digit confirmation number and all that jazz. Shows up all up in my profile, etc.
Worried about not finding this charge and missing a bill payment or something
I mean, first thing is it says I used I used a Mastercard, which no way I did, and then the last four digits don't match anything I have.

I count my blessings everyday. Over on the travel board people spend $7-12K constantly on 1-2 week vacations
No wonder something like going to Europe is a one time affair for so many people and people want to cram as many countries as possible. And with good reason too.
LSUAfro, good call:
