By the way, it went much smoother for me than the Web made me believe. They closed it and sent me my $40 remaining quickly

I'm chatting right now to see what I need to do to close it. I left $0 in the account so there's no need for a refund.

The UR portal would be helpful if I didn't have all this Amazon credit from Q4 still going

Was there an Amazon special on CSP or something? I have the Ink+ so hopefully I'm maximizing the points. I look to buy stuff through the portal instead of other ways. I guess I could buy Amazon gift cards from Office supply and get 5x on those...

297,500 RT for 2 people. It is just so rare to find two that you don't have to WL. Now I can't wait for May so I can start looking a year a out for when I can actually fly it with the gf.

Basically, that is great news and proof of the fact that it can happen

Btw - can anyone think of any other way (other than AA or SPG) to redeem for JAL F? I just saw the coffee mug the other day and I really want one now. Never been to Japan either.

For those with the Citi premier is the idea for those traveling on business to travel 4 nights, get the 4th night free and get reimbursement for the 4th night later after reimbursement from company?

I'm going to have to start checking employees cards

Citi PRESTIGE

Premier doesn't have that benefit

Ya, Freedom reset the category from 5x to 10x last Q4 so I bought $3,000 in Amazon GC between my Freedom and the Wife.

I haven't been following the rumors on the 5/24 for Chase co branded cards. Do they still believe this to be true? Think I'll aim for one more united personal card.

I haven't really seen it mentioned either, but I got United again right before it was theoretically supposed to start. I came just short of 2000 spend before my statement cut, but according to the statement I got the 5,000 card bonus so it looks like those 50k points are as good as mine.

Ya, I guess you could word it that way.

Hopefully they do it again!

Hey Teddy. I know we constantly get Thailand travel questions so I made a thread here. I know you have been and several other point guys have been so any contribution would be appreciated.

I don't believe there is. Really disappointed I didn't start this hobby earlier. Would've loved to have a more in depth experience with the true first class airlines. They really changed the game in first class in the first part of the decade, but I think they finally made the redemptions proportional to the value more accurate recently.

So did the rule start? Dang. Sucks I've put my wife's SSN on the sideline just for the companion pass, but with kids I think it's an evil necessity for us for the time being.

Yep. Think many of us have. I'll get over there and add some info soon. Going back in October and again in January.

I do like Thailand, but not going back to visit Thailand really on either trip. Just a launching point. Going to north vietnam mainly in October and Indonesia in January.

Just got an offer in the mail for the American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card with 50,000 reward points after spending $2,000

-$0 annual fee the first year, then $195 per year
- $100 Airline Credit
-$75 hotel credit, stay minimum two consecutive nights when booking through American Express

Sounds like a decent offer. I've never messed around with American Express before though. Whats the general consensus on this card and American Express points in general?

FYI, I have the following cards already:
CSP
Citi Prestige
Chase Sapphire
Southwest
Chase Ink Plus

Its awesome. How many cards did you open in the last 24 months? If it is 5 or more take the AmEx offer. It is the highest offer on this card and semi-complicated to get unless you are targeted. That or you could wait to be targeted for the 100K Platinum offer which I have never been able to generate for myself. Although some say there is a work around that too.

TL;DR AmEx targets people with no AmEx cards with higher offers. If you have 5 or more cards opened in the last 2 years, take this offer.

I got an amex platinum offer today but it was for 75k. We are trying to hit spending on several citi aa cards right now so I will hold off on it.
