I got the 6 digit confirmation number and all that jazz. Shows up all up in my profile, etc.

Worried about not finding this charge and missing a bill payment or something

Strange.

I remember when I was that guy. So dumb... .

I don't even bother telling most people about the points game anymore. Most don't care to learn because they think it's so complicated and time consuming, think it's illegal, or there is no way it works without wrecking your credit.

I've got a few of my friends on the a couple credit cards per year plan.

Driving me nuts.

Mastercard when I only have a few Mastercards to begin with = Check

Last four digits that don't match any of my cards...ever = Check

The thing is I know I didn't use this alleged card. I've been working on my United bonus and using my Double Cash because of my move to Austin, along with Freedom for groceries.

And ya, the amounts people spend on vacation are crazy. The great thing about this deal is now I don't really have to put money aside for months on end to go. With what is left to pay, I just fit it into my normal monthly budget. The 10 days of grocery shopping, eating out, etc just get replaced with the expenses I pick up abroad.

Except for the damn dog boarding. Most expensive part of the deal

Same haha. Sometimes I can't contain myself though. It is also crazy to me how many people have the CapOne Venture rewards cards. Not a bad card by any means but..
Oh and the CapOne QS.

Well they used to give one to everyone in F. Then they stopped doing that. But if you ask nicely, they may so no at first, but when you are getting off they hand you 2 as a "surprise" without fail. If you are a coffee drinker and you are into aviation at all, that coffee mug is a must have

Their marketing is so strong.

I have a buddy that begrudgingly asked me for CC advice (My friends know I'm into it and rib me about it) concerning the Chase Sapphire Preferred. Anyways, I know he has a Cap One Venture, so as the conversation ended I said, at the very least, replace that Venture with a Double Cash or something, you get the same rewards with no annual fee, and that card puts you like $3,000 behind in spending for no reason.

"I've spent $59 on worse things."

Anywho, who thinks I should contact United and mention "I have no idea what CC you charged." Time on phone over/under 4 hours?

This is pretty much my process as well. We'll usually blow it out at a couple of restaurants that most people would scoff at the costs so we usually start tapering spending in the month leading up to a big trip, but eating and drinking is like our hobby .

It's nice that the question isn't if we can afford it, but if we can get the time and where to go.

This is honestly why we don't have a dog . I'll probably bite the bullet in the next year or so and get my wife/kids on since we won't be taking as many vacations.

They really do and are proud of all their points on it. It just makes me .

I honestly never even thought to ask, but will definitely make it a point to inquire on my next flight.

Dude screw United. I tried to call them and get my record locator on Turkish flight, wait time was "at leats 2 hrs and 50 mins," and no option to hang up and request call back.

Seriously, how incompetent can US/UK carriers get? Then they complain about ME3 taking over with 100x better service and half the price. Gtfo

Sound logic . Sounds like a response I would get.

I honestly would. I've had things like that bite me in the arse. Better to just verify.

50/50 shot. All about the agent. Crazy how some can be so good and others can be so inept and confident in the wrong answers.

I recently had to call United and it was surprisingly painless. However, for you....yah, over 4 hours.

I also had a similar experience with First TN bank. I did one of their checking acct promos for $250. I funded $300 with one of my cc's. I then went two months doing some random deposits etc. to waive account fees before I could close account. I got the $250 bonus and withdrew...kept the initial $300 in account.

One day, I go to login and my access is denied. I call First TN and they state they closed the account because the initial deposit was disputed. I said there's no way and what were the last four of the card that was disputed. They then gave me the last four of a card I don't own. I checked my credit card and there's no $300 charge anywhere to be found.

At least this makes me feel like it is possible

Wait time 3 minutes!

Yah, something was shady and it wasn't me. I think they were trying to get rid of all the out of state applicants who just signed up for the bonus. Aggravating thing is that they probably put a mark on my chexsystems...I'll have to follow up on that in the future.

Of course, after 10 minutes, the call dropped while the agent was talking....

Haha, on the other hand, the agent answered in less than 2 mins and took care of everything for me.

However, she only gave me 1 other confirmation number for all the other flights. She says I can use that to find my reservation. But I am booked on 3 other partners. Didn't sound right so I persisted and she said this is definitely the confirmation for all the other flights.

I go on Turkish and use the number to try and find the flight - "No reservation can be found"

It seems like no one really knows how to properly give confirmation numbers for every partner except for the passengers.

I'm such a moron.

So, I just reminded myself I used Citi Thank You points for this flight.

For whatever reason, it assigns some random arse credit card number on the reservation as the payment method.

Furthermore, booking through Citi has its clunky moments upon confirmation.

I think I'm just off my routine with this move to Austin, but I will accept the ridicule I deserve.

Maybe you funded your First TN bank acc with Citi TYP as well? What was the redemption rate?
