Wyndham Charleston is another good option. It is a historic hotel and all 15K points a night.
Btw - with around 130K Chase points (potential from 2 CSPs), you can easily dream bigger
Whoever has those 4 Hyatt nights. Use them at the Hyatt Beaver creek over ski season. Sure flights are a little expensive around then but the experience will be amazing. Like I have said before, staying a top end hotel makes the best sense on a ski vacation when you are actually going to use the resort amenities as opposed to staying at a new place where you will spend most of your day exploring.

It's more unnecessary than it is "bad" I suppose. I have six credit cards, and I'm on the light end of this board

Chase values points at 1.25 cents per point through the portal
so you want to transfer and not book through chase to get the best value?

Still banking a lot of 5x points with gift cards on the Ink card and haven't thought about blowing them yet. Love this thread. I have learned a lot and changed my spending habits.

Honestly, I'm just terrified of devaluations at this point

Southwest overbooked and offered essentially $400/person to go to next flight. (1 hour layover)
Glad my fiancee is here to ensure I don't get tempted. Could have paid for our honeymoon
I need to fly separate from her

On a flight a couple years ago we got stuck in Dallas because of weather. Its getting late around 10:30 and I kept hearing the gate agents asking for volunteers for the flights into BR, LFT, LC. I was ready. They said the flight no. and I stood up and said 2 right here. Got $350 each, hotel and flight the next morning. My wife looked at me and said WTH just happened. I said we are not going home tonight and are getting a free flight to San Fran this summer.

That's the kind of stuff I do first and deal with gf related consequences later

I was offered so many of those as a minor but my parents always made me come home

SPG/Marriott merger approved. Got an email from spg that programs likely not merging until 2018. Think they'll give reciprocal status during 2017? Well on my way to plat with SPG and it would be great to use my remaining hotel nights to requal at hyatt instead of marriott.

For the IHG, I applied for the 60k + $50 statement credit. I sent chase a message with a screen shot of the 80k + $50 credit offer, hoping they will go ahead and give me the extra 20k. I will report back once they respond
Chase responded today. They gave me the option of either 60k points + $50 credit or 80k points with no statement credit. I'm gonna take the 80k points.

On the way to bora bora. Initial thoughts before boarding atn flight to ppt.
1) first class AA was well done. Woodford reserve on the flight. Good quiche for breakfast.
2) KLM lounge is nice (priority pass access from prestige card), but a little disappointed in the alcohol choices. Still can't complain to sit here and watch the Masters for 4 hours.
3) I can't wait to get to bora bora. A years worth of planning finally coming true.

Enjoy the trip. Find a guy with a jeep and go up to the WWII observation post on top of the mountain. The view is breathtaking.

I will do that.
Have you guys flown any of the newly renovated AA metal? It was extremely nice. Even coach looked decently spacious

Hey fellas, sorry to be a douche but don't really want to read all the way back.
Going to Europe later this summer, looking to pick up an Airline card and do the $2000 first month for 50,000 miles. Either the AA card or the Southwest card and just use the card the whole time in Europe.
Am I going about that correctly or should I look elsewhere?
