As soon as I met the requirements I called in and asked them to check for me and send me a written email confirming that I had met the requirements and they will be giving me the miles. Worked out as expected. The rep I got was actually really really good.

Just got off online chat with them.
They confirmed again that I met the bonus at the end of November so the miles should have posted by the end of February. They created a ticket to fix the problem so hopefully all will be well here in 48 hours.

I hate both of y'all equally.

For the access more card, I was able to upgrade a phone using the link in the portal. Seamless. Although it takes a couple billing cycles to get the $650 credit.

Amerikop - did you already get your citigold points? And if so, did you have to do anything once they confirmed you met requirements via email? Thanks!

Yes. But it was a headache I'll tell you that. I opened the account back in Oct and completed requirements early in Nov. I had to stay on top of it before the $30 fees started kicking in. I paid the fee once. They did need my AA account number at one point although I thought they wouldn't. So I'd constantly keep SMing and "chatting" and calling in to follow up.

Anyone been to Brazil? Is it safe for a couple to go there without a group? Trying to set fire to my AA miles before deval.

My buddy and his wife went to Rio, Iguazu, Buenos Aires and Montevideo this past December/January
They loved Rio. Did a favela tour and every thing.

That would be cool but Argentina and Uruguay both require personal appearance for Visas. Meaning a day trip to Houston for each. Brazil can be dont online through one of the visa services. Its stupid and annoying how everytime I want to go somewhere I need to go to Houston first.
ETA: My frsutration aside, you are saying that it is safe?
Also I was thinking for blowing a good bit on CX to MNL (since I've never been) but they have 0 award availability in First. There is some availability in J but 55k in J compared to 67.5k in F looks like a ripoff.
Any other ideas?

He had nothing bad to say. Doesn't mean results may differ

United/Star Alliance is way more than that.
Options seem to be:
Asiana
Singapore
Cathay as you said.
JAL
Korean

Oh yeah. I meant places cool places to blow a lot of AA miles. Problem with CX is they only release First space 24-48h or 11 months out.

Gotcha. My horde of AA miles had been earmarked for South America myself.
Maybe Ecuador/Galapagos or Colombia?

Galapagos is so much better with UA miles. 20K RT with 2 stopovers. Hard to beat that with AA

Ya, I had seen the same thing but when you're trying to burn you can't be picky.
Just spin the globe like Prince Akeem and Semmi

I need to find somewhere to burn my AA miles before the deval.

How do you get 2 stopovers with ua? I've only ever been able to get 1 over 24 hours on a RT ticket.

So got my Citi response.
It says I'm qualified but my account is not W8/W9 certified and that they can't give the miles until it is.
Of course, the letter states nothing on how what I'm supposed to do that. I googled it on my phone. I haven't seen what the form looks like but I guess I down load it from the IRS and send it to Citi? This is fricking stupid IMO

My bad for calling it 2 stop overs. I meant 1 stopover to destination and then one open jaw at destination. So I pretend like it's 2 stops but not really

If you can swing it, try to book Cathay first. Since I can't take off in the next 2 days or in 11 months from now (that's when you seem to find availability) you should go for that.
Another good use is 20k 1 way to S. America two during our fall but their late spring/summer. Or 50k aboard AAs 77W in business if you haven't tries that product yet. Non stop route DFW-GRU
You could also so a thanksgiving trip to a cool winter country like Switzerland, Sweden etc for 20k one way. None of these work for me except S. America.
I may just bite the bullet and fly QR J to Asia. But the 77W is not the most impressive product and I can't find a380 availability.

Did you book your flight on JAL F with AA miles? What route did you fly?
