Never been to Gurgaon. We did Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jaiselmer, and Pushkar. Was pretty cool. My brother got sick as a dog in Pushkar. We now jokingly refer to it as the time his stomach exploded and blew out of both ends simultaneously.

Ha, you pretty much did the same trip I did, except my incident went down at the palace in Udaipur.

I did Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur and Pushkar. Gurgaon we just drove through but the amount of apartment buildings going up and foreign corporations there is crazy.

I had a lot of fun in Pushkar, danced with some gypsies while on a camel ride, then got drunk off whisky and cokes with my driver and his friends.

Anyone flown AAs 332 in J? Would you recommend it? Can't find Y until a day later. If J isn't anything to brag about, then I'd rather just go a day later. If its cool, then I can justify the marginal cost. Route is PHL>FRA.

Thanks for your help. My routing would be either JAX, or any east coast city to Edinburgh.

Could also do London if that worked easier. I could use an Ihg free night there.

By the way, for those interested in IC Thalasso (Bora Bora), it just got raised from 50,000 to 60,000 points. On the positive note (relative to value), the cash rate just got elevated to $1,000 per night.

Well the bad news keeps coming since we missed the easy availability last year

Maybe some availability will come though.

I will post a trip review when we get back. Super excited as it is only 2.5 months away now. My snorkeling trip was covered with capital one points (was unsure if it would charge as travel), and I'm hoping meals at the hotel will be charged travel. We shall see.

Hands down one of the best point redemptions, but also not free

We were there 5 days and spent $2,500 on food, booze and excursions.
Fruity drink by the pool?$20

I haven't. But ive heard generally that AA's new J product is good. Not sure if that plane has the new hard product or not? Some of AA's planes still sport the old angle flat seats so you have to be a bit vigilant.

Looks like I can charge meals to my room. I can then continue to accrue pouts for 90 days or so and hopefully have enough cap points to cancel out dinner for 3-4 nights.

If you were considering it, skip the high end restaurant, Le Corail. Definitely not worth the price tag.

We ate a big breakfast every day, $40/person and usually split a sandwich and fries for lunch, $30 with a beer.

I brought a bottle of bourbon, vodka, and tequila with some Rita mix. We took ferry to le moana and picked up some champagne, cheese, mixers and wine at market. We bought frozen drinks by the pool here and there, but tried to fix our own most of the time.

Prices at resort are ridiculous but you are smack Dab in the middle of the pacific on a motu.

If we're talking Bora Bora here then Bloody Mary's is a must place to eat at. Just for the star power of those that have eaten there before. IIRC is was also a pretty darned good meal.

Yep. Only meal we ate off the resort actually and probably the best meal we had in bora bora.

Its not the new hard product. I think that is on the 777-300ERs. This does have lie flats, but it is the old US Air aircraft.

What I am finding on ANA from ORD to LHR is 88,000 per business seat with $160 in fees. Does that sound about what you expected?

Yes. Sounds like you're getting a UA flight. Bec BA would charge way more than $160

Sounds good. I was planning on taking some vodka, bourbon, maybe a nicer bottle of wine. I was going to go into town first day and grab some groceries for the rest of the week. Did you get them to empty out the mini fridge so you had room to store things?

Id scratch the wine. The market in town had a fairly decent selection and prices were fairly comparable to what we pay here.

We drank mimosas on the deck every morning so I picked up OJ. Champagne was expensive on the island so consider bringing that if you want.

Yeah we emptied it out.

You're in for a treat. It's a pretty surreal setup. But, it's all about the relaxing. I didn't do shite for 5 days it was great. Some people can't do that. 5 days was just about right for me.

The Polynesian dance show they do a couple times per week I think. If you're going contact concierge ahead of time and book table up front. it's a so-so show but a good time with guest interaction. Seems like it was $75 per person with Buffett.

Awesome. I have a bottle of champagne at home (not a huge champagne fan) that will work great for some mimosas. I'll get the wine there. Do they have wine glasses there, or did you bring some glasses?

I am not someone that can lay around 5 days, so I have booked us two snorkle tours, a full day pontoon boat (just me and the Mrs. Cruising around Bora Bora self guided was too much to pass up), and a spa day at the Mrs. Request.

I just emailed the resort, and they said could not guaranteed either a late check out or early check in. I will see what they will offer me to join ambassador at the desk. I will gladly spend 300 for some perks, but they have to be worth it.

I can't wait to go. Have any of you guys flown US Airways first class? We are flying clt - LAX first class. Not expecting much, but hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

We did do the shark n Ray snorkel tour. That was pretty cool. I Took the go pro. I've caught a few sharks in the gulf, but swimming in and being surrounded by dozens of sharks definitely made it pucker a few times

Got from room service request

They have a day room so if you need to catch a later flight they can hold your luggage and give you a room to shower and clean up before you leave.
Ambassador there won't get you much of anything. I was/am and I don't recall getting anyone note worthy. Maybe a room view upgrade. We stayed in 205(I think) It was great for privacy.

I've flown it twice. Don't expect too much Definitely better than coach for a 5 hour flight but it's still a domestic configuration with domestic first seats.
You flying air Tahiti ? I read they updated LAX to allow connecting passengers the ability to go to the international terminal without having to leave the airport which was a joke.
