There was no specific costs in the bid… They lumped a lot of things together like flooring and labor, materials, bathroom tile and labor and etc.

The contract was a fixed price, not cost plus.

And I still haven’t heard anything back from my contractor after emailing him the spreadsheet I have that breaks down everything.

Some attorneys specialize in construction related matters. I would try to hire one of them. Any attorney can read a contract, but someone who is familiar with the industry will be familiar with the usual excuses and defenses and be better able to respond to them.

I would not provide him your data until he can come up with an answer better than “I don’t know, I guess…”

I’d immediately consult a lawyer- should’ve long ago.
