Pretty big news today

April cpi came in at an increase of only 2.3% over April 2024. This is below forecast of 2.4%. This is the lowest increase since Feb 2021.

One month does not make a trend but it’s good to see some cooling in price increases and no big surprises from tariffs.

Inflation eased. Not prices.

CPI increased 2.3% in April.

The cpi reflects a rate of inflation for consumer items

I just wish we had at least one year of outright falling prices soon.

ok.

That doesn't mean prices eased. They still went up. Just up at a slower pace. Prices did NOT ease.

What's up the 10 yr? It is shooting up

Trying to buy a house in a month. Was hoping the tariff cooling and decent consumer reports would make her drop instead of rise.
