Is there an easier way to search listings of commercial property than a bunch of scattered listings by realty groups and happen-chance coming across a listing?

I’m a novice, but it seems pretty scattered and unorganized compared to residential real estate.

Try LoopNet for your local area.

Its a good view of the market and you may find a decent deal.

lacdb.com is where you can find both lease and for sale properties.

Not sure if it is in all markets but CoStar is the most useful accurate that I am aware of. It is a paid membership, though. Loopnet will have a lot of it

There is SO much stuff not listed anywhere. We used a realtor to find commercial rentals after driving around finding buildings for lease that weren't listed anywhere. We got our second location by calling the same realtor and finding someone building a new building willing to modify to our needs so that was nice.

Costar is the commercial MLS/CRM and is very cost prohibitive, but they own Loopnet and share the same data. It’s going to be the most accurate info you’ll be able to get access to.

Don’t waste your time with officespace.com, propertyshark, etc. I get plenty of calls from people spinning their wheels calling listings these sites show as available that haven’t been on the market for years.
