Anyone receive a car insurance renewal lately? Just received mine today and it has increased 50% since June. Nothing has changed for us; same coverage, no claims, no wrecks, no new drivers, same vehicles. Wondering if this is going on across the industry due to the increased costs of vehicles and repairs. I do have a Tundra which is a prime target for catalytic convertor thefts. I plan on contacting my agent to have them run numbers with other insurers. I have no allegiance to any insurer and will jump ship quickly for a better rate. Currently have home and auto separate as the premiums were better using 2 insurers then it was for any combined policies.

Your agent shoulD be looking into other markets without your prompting.

Just Got my renewal notice. Going up $23 over 6 months. No changes to cars or coverages. Guess I should consider myself lucky. USAA if wondering.

I've had USAA in the past and they were a great company, just expensive. If I'm going to pay USAA rates, I'll gladly go back to them.

I'm currently with Geico. mine went from $800/6 months to $1200/6 months.

Geico

Their biz model is undercut everyone initially, then raise rates until you leave.
It works for them, as consumers are lazy.

I just switched from GEICO to Progressive. GEICO just kept hiking rates every time. Progressive was 35% cheaper for the same coverage, and home insurance was $50 cheaper on the year for better coverage. I’ve never bothered to shop around but enough was enough.

Yep. Just renewed effective 11/15. Increased my coverage from 25/50 to 50/100 and price went up $5. I am with Farm Bureau of LA. Been with them for 20 years. Have had increases but never more than 10% and usually less than 5% every couple years. I don't remember ever having increases in back to back 6 month renewal periods.
